hi tom, I have a 1997 sterling europa caravan fitted with a carver 2 water heater the system intermittently activates the pump when the system is not in use, and the water leaks from around the vent on the outside of the van is this due to a failure of a part and can i replace this.

You clearly have a leak at one of the components which is causing the water pump to cut in as the pressure drops. It is most likely to be the safety valve that is the problem, our part 119477. If you undo the four screws that secure the flue cover then you should be able to see where the leak is coming from.
