If you are intending to mount this bicycle rack onto a Motorhome or caravan, which has factory fitted Thule mounting brackets, you will need kit 269021.

This kit provides a bottom mounting bracket, which is mounted by adhesive and four screws.

The adhesive that Thule recommends is Sika 252. (we do not sell this )

The V16 motorised rack requires a 16 amp fuse. Fortunately we have a window at the rear of our caravan, and it’s my intention to pass the wire through the window and use the 12v “socket” and solder in, an on-line fuse.

The Lift V16 Motorised Bicycle Carrier from Thule Sweden is designed to mount to the rear of a caravan or motorhome. By default, the carrier supports 2 bikes but, can support a third with the purchase of an additional rail kit. Featuring a motorised 12v operated easy access platform, the Thule lift can bridge a distance of 70cm in height and in its lowest position, the platform makes loading and unloading your bikes simple!

The Lift V16 Motorised Bicycle Carrier comes with two bike rails and each featuring two adjustable wheel holders; depending on your bikes’ wheel base, the holders can be moved to correctly align. Once you have the wheel holders in place, the stretchable rubber ladder bands will secure and lock the wheels in place.

The bike frame holders rest against the bikes and feature soft touch material to prevent marking your bikes; to secure in place, the provided Thule pump buckles provide the tension required.

Replacement for the Omni-Bike Lift, Motorised version with motor (12v). After lowering the bike rack into its lowest position, the bikes are easily installed and fixed in the bike rail. Just by pushing one button or by using the hand crank, the bikes are brought to their normal level. Use the straps to fasten the rack. The frame is made of anodised aluminium and all fixation parts are rust proof. Extension for three bikes available.

2 FAQs on the Thule Lift V16 Carrier (Motorised version)

I can see the supply should have a 16A fuse. Do you know the actual power demand? Would be used on a towed van and hence power will probably be supplied form a portable car starter/power pack with two cigar lighter (8A) outputs and a 25A main fuse. (Would use both!)
16A is to handle the peak that occurs when starting to lift, and even more in the short time when the lift is closed but you have not yet released the button.
What is the maximum opening / grip length of the bike grips? – we have two step thro’ Raleigh ebikes which have thick main tubes
There is no strict answer, but looking at the grip I’d say round tube 8cm. Exotic shapes are to be tested first. Often the saddle pin would give the best clamp results, if it can be reached of course.
