  Product Description
The Milenco Wraith Caravan Wheel Lock has been designed and engineered to far exceed the Sold Secure Gold Standard. The Sold Secure Gold Standard is two and half times tougher the Thatcham Category 3.

Designed to be simple to fit, whilst achieving uncompromising security for your caravan. Fits by replacing one of the caravan wheel bolts with the Wraith's specially engineered Low Mass Security Wheel Bolt Receiver. The Wraith has a foam covered high grade steel bar, that locates through the wheel, which stops wheel rotation. Simply position the bar through the wheel and lock the Wraith to the Security Bolt Receiver.

It has exceptional quality features which include the best pick-proof, ultra-high security with a built in locking mechanism, steel construction to resist from sawing and freezing.

The Wraith Wheel Lock comes complete with 3 keys and fits both Steel and Alloy Caravan wheels. A foam back is used on the wheel lock to protect your Alloy wheels. This product has been extensively tested by both Milenco, Sold Secure, Tass formerly known as SCM and has passed and exceeded every test performed. This is a very high security product, tested to a professional caravan security standards. The Sold Secure Gold and SCM, TASS, SKG-IKOB MP03 standards are the highest and only professional standards in the world for caravan security.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCM & SOLD SECURE
  • Sold Secure is the UK independent test house for Security Products
  • SCM is the Dutch independent test house for Security Products

Milenco has a 25-year involvement with both Sold Secure and its predecessor, PACT as well as the SCM standard and its predecessor, TNO-VIP. This is a question we get asked a lot, and as a company that has numerous approvals for both standards, we have here produced a simple and impartial guide to the difference in the standards. Thatcham has never really had a involvement in Caravan theft, and now this standard is discontinued therefore has no relevance to caravan security. The general and most significant difference between the 2 standards is that Sold Secure has been developed based upon techniques used by thieves in the UK. Conversely the SCM standard has been developed around techniques used by thieves in the Netherlands.

Which is the highest standard?
It is generally regarded that Sold Secure Gold is over 50% tougher than SCM. Regretfully the UK leads the world for Caravan theft, so it has the toughest standards.

Which is the better approval?
Both Sold Secure and SCM are competent, efficient and professional organisations but we have to recommend Sold Secure for the UK and SCM for the Netherlands.

Milenco Wraith Wheel Lock Initial Setup
Tools Required:
  • 19mm Socket
  • Torque Wrench

1 - Remove one Caravan Wheel bolt and replace with supplied Security Wheel Bolt receiver.
2 - Using The Torque Wrench, tighten the Security Wheel Bolt to caravan's manufacturers torque specification.

Milenco Wraith Wheel Lock Adjustment
The Wraith Wheel Lock requires a one off adjustment for optimum fitment for individual wheel sizes. This is achieved by following these simple steps.
1 - Using the supplied Allen Key, turn grub screw one turn anti clockwise, this allows the lock shaft to rotate for adjustment.
2 - Turn the lock shaft anti clockwise to its maximum length.
3 - Insert key and turn clockwise to unlock.
4 - Locate lock shaft onto security wheel bolt receiver, a flush fit of the lock body to the wheel surface is required. If adjustment is needed, remove lock from the wheel bolt receiver and rotate the lock shaft clockwise to shorten until a minimal gap between lock body and wheel surface is achieved.
5 - Turn grub screw clockwise to lock shaft. Set up is now complete.

PLEASE BE AWARE YOU MAY NEED PART THE PART BELOW FOR SOME OLDER BAILEY OR LUNAR CARAVANS. THESE CARAVANS HAVE UNDERSIZED BOLT HOLES SO THIS IS A SMALL HOLE LOCK TO MAKE THIS FIT.

Where can I get duplicate keys from?
Original Wheelclamp: You can purchase 2 x keys direct from Milenco on 01908 220102 providing us with your key number (delivery will take 10 working days).

If the key starts with the prefix T then you can purchase duplicate keys from Camlock Systems (01323 410996) and quote your key number, alternatively if you have lost all your keys but the clamp is unlocked you can purchase a new lock and 3 keys from Milenco 01908 220102.

Compact Wheelclamp and Compact Plus: You can purchase 2 x keys direct from Milenco on 01908 220102 providing us with your key number (delivery will take 10 working days).

Lightweight Wheelclamp: You can purchase 2 x blank keys direct from Milenco on 01908 220102 providing the letter prefix on the key (this would be either a V or L or a rounded top key).

Security Hand Rail, Door Locks and Door Frame Locks: You can purchase 2 x blank keys direct from Milenco on 01908 220102 providing the letter prefix on the key (this would be either a V or L).

New Heavy Duty Alko Albe Hitchlock and the Lightweight Hitchlock keys: You can purchase 2 x keys direct from Milenco on 01908 220102 providing us with your key number (delivery will take 10 working days).
The correct key is fully inserted and still will not turn.
Check that the Wraith Lock has free movement through the wheel of the caravan. The same as when it was fitted.

If the Wraith lock body does not have free movement, the lock will not release until this free movement is restored.

If your caravan has moved this applies a load to the lock, it is designed not to release to maximise security.

Move the caravan back so that there is, free movement with the Yellow lock body.

This may also be achieved with the corner steadies.

As a guide you should be able to rotate the Wraith, when fitted a minimum of 10 mm in either direction, subject to the aperture size in the wheel.

Please remember that once your key has turned about half a turn you still need to physically pull the Wheel Clamp off the wheel.
The correct key will not turn more than a quarter of a turn.
Check the key is fully inserted into the lock. Turn clockwise as far as you can then applying pressure to the key rotate the key anti-clockwise. Repeat to ensure the key is fully inserted.

The first quarter of a turn, simply aligns the wafers in the lock. The second quarter of a turn opens the lock.
My key will not turn in the lock or only turns on quarter of a turn.
Check you have the correct key.

Milenco Wraith 2 Product was fine, but would not fit. This was due to the shape of the alloy wheel. Even with the lock assembly screwed all the way in it was not engaging on the wheel nut, shame really as it is a very good locking device.

The Wraith wheel lock was bought to replace an older lock which had seen better days. My old lock needed to have the security bolt in the right place to fit it into the wheel. The Wraith is more versatile and can be fitted in several positions. Whilst it seemed a little fiddly to fit at first, that was because I had not been used to a lock of this type before. Having now fitted it several times, I feel confident that it will turn out to be a very good product sold by Leisure Shop Direct at a very good price.

Bought Milenco Wraith wheel lock to replace old style lock on caravan. Super easy to use and fit. Be aware if you have an older caravan you may need the slimmer lock insert to fit the wheel nut hole from Milenco direct, this was also easy to get. This was the cheapest I could find online. Great product and comes in a very impressive (possibly over the top) case. Unfortunately it didn't fit my Coachman Pastiche 575 at first - but upon contacting Milenco this seems a common issue that they are aware of for many caravans and upon taking a deposit of £32 they sent me a replacement lock barrel that would fit in my alloy. It is an excellent product but I feel that they should either supply a part that is more universally suitable - or at least include a note that an alternative available as I almost returned to Leisureshopdirect as unsuitable!

Typically well made Milenco product. Fitting the new wheel nut was easy. Adjustment of the locking device took a minute or two. It takes seconds to fit and secure the wheel lock. Caravan came with an Alko lock which is very fiddly to fix as the wheel and receiver have to be in perfect alignment. Very tricky when you can't use a jack.

Having recently returned to touring caravan holidays after a break of ten years, I purchased this wheel lock to replace a much heavier and cumbersome wheel clamp, that while it did the job effectively was a struggle and time consuming to fit. The Milenco Wraith is much more compact, and once adjusted, very easy to fit and remove. It also comes in a strong carry/storage case which will fit easily into the front locker of the caravan or the boot of my car without taking up too much room or adding significant weight to the outfit when towing. It took a little bit of trial and error getting the initial adjustment just right, but once the setting was right and locked, it is very easy to use.

Once you know how it works it is fantastic. What they don’t tell you is that the collar is adjustable to the depth of your wheel. I started the process of sending this back but as I was paying it up notices this feature.

This an easy to fit and sturdy device. The original lock barrel didnt fit my wheel because it was to big. I contacted the supplier and they sorted the issue extremely quickly. Millenco posted out the correct barrel and now all is good. Just one note. Dont be fooled by all of the security ratings and think that you will get an insurance discount by fitting this. The only device i could find that attracted a discount is the ALKO lock. I have both!

I purchased this in an attempt to keep caravan secure but avoid the hassle of using the existing Alko lock which needed the wheel to be in a specific place to work. On first attempt to fit the Wraith, the bar passed through the wheel spoke and caravan frame prevented it going in far enough. The next two spaces found the frame, the next found the Alko lock point, the fourth found the mover, the fifth attempt the bar went in but then the Wraith would not reach the wheel nut. By moving the caravan it did line up and by chance it did also on next two fittings. So in summary it works but not as easily as hoped and not an awful lot better than the Alko one.
