Fiona Ure, communications executive at the Belfast Visitor & Convention Bureau, said that it is very easy to cut costs while staying in Belfast.
According to a recent hotel.info Value for Money Index, Belfast has become even more affordable over the past year, taking top position in the survey.
Ms Ure added: "Many of the city's popular restaurants and bars offer pre-theatre menus and dining deals ensuring visitors can experience the best of local food without breaking the bank."
She also revealed that the events and attractions can be reached without using public transport as the city is very walker friendly with many points of interest within easy walking distance.
For those looking to visit the Belfast area near Christmas the St George's Christmas Fair may be a particular point of interest.
The fair takes place in Belfast city centre throughout December and offers visitors the chance to sample seasonal fair at a wide range of gourmet food and festive craft stalls.
