Caravan refrigeration owners who are planning a trip away for the royal wedding bank holiday have been urged to visit London to be a part of the celebrations.

Boris Johnson has pointed out that there really is not better place to soak up the atmosphere than in the capital, where thousands of tourists and Brits are expected to descend.

Visit London is predicting that an additional 600,000 visitors will come to London for the wedding, with a mix of overnight international and domestic visitors as well as tourists coming into the capital on the day itself expected.

Mr Johnson said: "The pageantry, excitement and fantastic atmosphere of a royal wedding, against the historic backdrop of London's world famous landmarks is a glorious occasion I would recommend to everyone."

He added that the city offers a wide array of shops, restaurants, museums and major attractions which ensure a memorable visit.

London is currently preparing for one of its busiest years for major sporting events for more than a decade with a number of world-class sporting events taking place during 2011.
