NEC Caravan Show 2017 to Welcome Tens of Thousands of Visitors

The Motorhome and Caravan Show 2017 will be taking place between October 17 and 22, to the delight of some 100,000 visitors and participants. Leisure vehicles, trailer tents, holiday homes, gadgets and camping accessories due to be launched in 2018 will be on display across 11 halls at the NEC caravan show 2017 in Birmingham.

The Birmingham caravan show 2017 is a must-attend event for all those interested in seeing and testing soon-to-be-released models, layouts, finishes and technologies. Satellite systems, caravan movers, porches and awnings are some of the other products on display. Of course, must-have accessories like Wi-Fi boosters, cycle racks, barbecues, torches, and tow-bars will also be enjoying the spotlight at the NEC motorhome show 2017.

The organisers expect a record number of visitors this year, especially since reports and studies carried out in the first half of 2017 show positive trends in the production, sale and use of leisure vehicles. The NCC, VisitBritain and the Caravan and Motorhome Club all agree: 2017 is a great year for the leisure vehicle industry.

The touring industry's trade body, National Caravan Council (NCC), revealed promising new figures in the lead-up to the NEC caravan show 2017. They point to a surge in leisure vehicle sales, motorhome registrations, and domestic holidays. Leisure vehicle trips and staycations also seem to be on the rise, as more and more people turn to the motherland for their holidays.

With 11.4% more touring caravans, motorhomes and caravan holiday homes being sold at the beginning of the year than in 2016, it's clear to see that people's enthusiasm for touring is growing. Add to that a 14% year-on-year rise in motorhome registrations in line with a 13.7% production boost in the first half of the year, and the picture becomes even more encouraging.

Another positive result this year has been the increase in 'staycations' across Great Britain. An estimated 14.4 million holidays were taken domestically from the start of the year until the end of April. This corresponds to a 3% year-on-year increase. To cope with increasing demand, caravan holiday home deliveries to holiday park locations have also risen by 5.6% in the first half of the year, as compared to 2016 results.

According to a GB Tourism Survey by VisitBritain, holiday travel had been on the up and up even in 2016, but domestic trips were losing ground to international ones. However, nearly a quarter of the 44.7 million holiday trips people had in England last year were camping or touring trips.

What's more, the Caravan and Motorhome Club, which has been active for just over a millennium, has reportedly grown its membership base to a record 300,000 households in 2017. According to a recent press release, the club now boasts over 100 sites across the UK, where 9% more pitch nights were sold this first half year than the same time last year. As the club puts it, "staycation is booming".

Considering the positive results of all these reports and studies, it should be no surprise if the Motorhome and Caravan Show draws in far more than last year's 100,000+ visitors. After all, the NEC Caravan Show 2017 is the biggest launch event in the UK that caters specifically to the leisure vehicle industry. What's more, the NEC motorhome show 2017 isn't just about new-for-2018 products. It's also about enabling visitors to view and try some of the products for themselves.

Moreover, being a visitor of the Birmingham Caravan Show 2017 comes with many other perks. Celebrity chefs will be trying out the built-in stoves and hobs, broadcasting live from within the motorhomes. Industry experts will be taking centre stage with their exciting presentations brimming with insider tips.

On-site help will be available for tourers looking for finance, insurance and security products. The ticket comes with free parking, free towing, and free show guides. To top it off, kids go free. Tickets are also available from the Motorhome and Caravan Show's official website.
