This is an excellent cool box. A good size and without any bits sticking out in the box as the cooling system is in the lid. Very good capacity and runs from a car cigarette lighter when travelling or the mains at home. Boost cool setting to full and chill before putting chilled items in and then turn to ECO. All in all a very good item which I would happily recommend.

Well made Waeco W48 product and looks good,we also like the two openings so it makes it more efficient. It was damaged in transit but with no quibbles on a replacement that was not a problem. It’s not the smallest but that makes it more usable and stable and not just for drinks .

Bought this to give us extra fridge space in our caravan, as I was tired of going to the inside fridge for a cold beer only to discover the beer had been taken out and replaced with non essential items (kids food etc). The mobicool fridge worked perfectly and I managed to survive a two week holiday with a wife and three kids by keeping my beer cold and readily available.

A lot better than expected. Had it running for a whole week with no issues. Runs well in the car and in a tent. I had day temperatures of up to 30 degrees and food / drink was still perfectly cool. Cant fault it. Slight downside you do get a fair bit of water within the unit if it has been running for a long time. Simple to over come and clean / dry daily, so no big issue.

For those that think this is a fridge...forget it ... and If you run it empty, it will not be particularly cold.
Now, we used this for first time camping in Devon in August for a week and it was full of food and drink. It kept everything as expected. Cold beer to enjoy in the evening, food in a good state and in eco fan speed mode, was quiet enough at night to sleep.

Good so far, I want it to keep things colder but I will be taking it on a camping trip soon so we will see how it performs then. The fan at the to does blow out hot air so make sure where you store the box has good vented access. The box is massive. so will fit in shopping and 2 liter bottles upright with ease. Water does gather in the bottom so be careful with any open food.

Just back from 3 weeks in France using the Mobicool as an additional cooler to the fridge in our caravan. Worked really well despite high temperatures and being situated in our awning, albeit out of direct sunlight. Also used plugged in to car whilst travelling. Very happy with performance and capacity. Only downsides are that water does collect in the bottom of the cooler so you need to take care what is stored at the bottom and the unit does make an audible buzzing sound when at maximum cooling setting. Did not bother us at all but could be an issue if used in a tent for example. Overall, really pleased with our purchase.

Tried it as soon as it arrived .Really pleased only draw back was it did not have a UK plug. Didn't realise so bought a travel adapter as we want to use it with our caravan whilst on holiday.

Just arrived back from 2 weeks in Spain and used the W48 as an additional cooler to the one in my Caravan. It worked really well even in the warm temperatures and was suitably impressed considering its capacity and relatively cheap price. We also used it in the car on 12V during the journeys and it worked well there as well. The only drawback that I could see was that when it was on its maximum cooling setting it did make a slight buzzing sound.

I bought this to use in the car and via an electric hook-up whilst camping. It performed brilliantly even when the weather got warm. It has lots of space and a divider to keep things orderly, I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Really well made. I received it just in time for a sunny weekend and guests. I used it connected to the mains and could not be more pleased with it. It cools quickly and takes tall bottles standing up. Service was excellent as well and on the day of delivery I was sent a text with a one hour window of 17.03 - 18.03 and it arrived about 17.15. How good is that?

Superb item. My business owns 2 of these and they've proven very reliable over the past year. The only thing worth noting is that they cool to about 20 degrees below ambient, so on a hot day in a vehicle they may not keep a low fridge temperature

Purchased this item in Jan 14 and have just returned from a 6 week camping trip when this item was in constant use. I had previously an absorption refrigerator that had to be perfectly level. No setting up worries with the Mobicool item, though. I have to say that it performed brilliantly. I had to be careful with the variable setting on mains as the cooler began to ice up - even in daytime temps in the 30s. Can be wheeled around when full and takes a massive amount of stuff. It's worth having it switched on mains and cooling a day or 2 before travelling, then running off 12V works just as well. I thoroughly recommend this product.

First class bit of kit, should have purchased one a long time ago, will not have to put up with the old fashioned cool box, just plug and play, huge size didn't realise just how much room you get in a space of 48lts, managed to get a full weeks worth of Fridge stuff in, mind you I think we lived on love for the first three days (it's good to run of with a sexy partner) but back to the review the best way is to drop down the temp at home then plug in the car, saying that it's so well insulated It will last a full day if used sensibly, would fully recommend the goods and of course the supplier for a first class 12 volt and mains cool box, Mike Stockport

Big box, kept the gin and tonic cold enough while camping. Will hold plenty anf tall enough to hold a 2litre soda bottle or wine bottle.
The only Down side was water that collected in the bottom.
Very quiet even on max cooling.

We bought this fridge a few weeks ago and have used it several times since buying it .The fridge is fantastic and keeps keeps everything really cold, what 's really good about the fridge is you can turn the motor down , which is brilliant at
night because you can not hear the motor running(I think it's called Eco mode)

This looks good and it looks as if it has a good load capacity. Have not had the opportunity to try it out yet but if it works as well as it looks there should be no problems. This has been bought to replace a very old 3 way fridge that was on it's last legs but served us well.

Have had the 35 ltr version for a few years and served me well. Upgraded to the 48ltr version as I needed extra cooling space when camping. This unit works very well and am extremely pleased. Would have given 5 stars but unit came with fixed continental plug for mains with no adaptor for uk.

Not sure how I went without a camping fridge for nearly 20 years. Having a little one now makes this ideal for keeping foods fresh even in the hottest summer. I used this in a tent in excess of 30 degrees and it still kept the drinks and food cool.

Used it once for bringing some frozen food home from a short range shopping trip. Let it run from the night before on the mains plug and it certainly seemed cooler inside the cabinet after running for eight hours, especially empty. I would imagine it will struggle less fully loaded. The box doesn't have a thermostat so I would imagine it could frost up quite heavily as earlier reviewers have indicated. What can they expect? and it's a good indication that the box is fit for purpose. A trip next month when I will be bringing home some fresh meat will determine whether it will be a good buy. As long as the fan keeps whirring I think it will be a winner. Any future problems I will of course divulge.

This is ideal for camping it kept all the contents nicely cold during our recent holiday, working well on both mains voltage and in their car. When operating with the mains supply and the temperature set for maximum cooling it is a little on the noisy side.
But overall it is excellent value for money

Love this electric cooler / fridge. Bought it to replace an aging and noisy campingaz cooler. Huge inside, and on eco mode is super silent. Recommend cooling on full power during the day, which is slightly noisier, and turning it to eco mode overnight - can hardly hear it. Keeps things as cold as my fridge at home. Worth the price

Needed a larger coolbox for camping and saw this had good ratings so gave it a go. Arrived promptly, well packaged and does the job. It does get a small amount of water in the bottom when run extensively for a day or two, but nothing to worry about. Love the size, holds plenty of food (and cyder!). Overall a great product.

I bought the cooler for our holiday in the South of France (driving down there and self catering). I started the cooler going the evening before we left to get it down to temperature, loaded it and had it running off the car 12v system on the road trip and off the mains in our apartment for the whole week. It did an excellant job of keeping our food and drink supplies down at the requisite temperture. The only thing to beware of is not putting a 'tallish' bottle under the cooler part, as this holds the lid slightly open and causes the cooler to freeze over and of course - lose temperature!

Very pleased with the Waeco W48 coolbox. Checked the temperatures and it performs exactly as it's meant to and with the mains plug-in you can chill it right down before making that big journey on your 12 volt socket. The first delivery was damaged but handled very well by Leisureshopdirect who immediately organized the collection and replacement on the next working day - Can't recommend them highly enough!

We bought this as an addition to a cheap and much smaller cool box we already have. First impressions, it's a good size you can get plenty in. Positives are it keeps everything really cold, as cold as the fridge in my touring caravan. Mind I haven't had it away in really hot conditions yet. That will be tested in france in July. It is great to carry and wheel about when all that beer is in it! The negatives are the fan is louder than my existing coolbox but not so that it's a problem, the other is it does not come with a separate lead which connects to your power supply. The lead is actually attached inside the lid and I'm concerned it might get accidentally pulled out or loosened over time and you can't get access to where it connects. My existing one has a detachable lead which stows away separately. It's not such an issue that I wouldn't buy it though. Overall a good buy for the price.

bought this whilst travelling the other year. Value wise it's pretty good. Maybe not as effiecient as the compressor type coolboxes, but less than half the price of those.
Capacity is great, it will hold a full case of beer (24x440ml cans) and has enough height for storing full 2l bottles upright too. Used as additional cooling for party beer on more than one occassion, and even when full of beer the handle and wheels makes it easy to move around. It's got a centre divider which was handy when travelling as no need to have a full crate of booze being cooled, even I don't drink that much! So, one half was a few bottles of cider and some soft drinks, the other half was food which worked pretty well.
It's got a small drain hole and plug in the bottom which helps with cleaning or if you have had spillages in there. Also, the lids are both fully removable which helps with cleaning and you can swap them round if needed, as well as select which opens first. one lid has the electrics in it, the other is probably the best to have as the easy access compartment lid.
Only thing stopping it getting a 5/5 was that that it could sometimes ice up a bit on the inside of the cooling mechanism in dampish conditions, though this didn;t happen very often and we sometimes were running it for a few days at a time.
All in all, a pretty well designed bit of kit and price wise, you get good value when comparing with other smaller portable coolers.

This does everything it says on the tin. It is capacious and very easy to use. We used it this summer for our holiday and took, bacon, spreads, milk, yogurts etc to cover us for a couple of weeks away as we have finicky kids who only like english products. It was worth its weight in gold and would definately recommend if you have the need for such a large product. It fitted very well between the two middle seats of our Galaxy and was in easy reach for our kids to help themselves to cold drinks too.
