Caravan club encourages staycations

Posted by Linda Davidson

Caravan taps owners will no doubt be overjoyed to hear that the Caravan and Camping Club has continued its support for the humble staycation.

According to the organisation, with heightened security at UK airports and rising taxes on flights, staycations remain a safe and cost effective alternative to overseas travel - something that caravan taps owners have known for years.

The club offers UK holidaymakers the choice of 108 award-winning sites dotted across some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain.

Matthew Eastlake, the club's marketing and communications director, said: "Domestic holidays remain a popular option, helped by the ever growing cost of air travel.

"In light of these uncertain times, we have frozen our site fee prices on all of our UK Club Sites for the first time in ten years with the aim of providing an inexpensive, affordable way for both new and experienced campers to holiday."

He concluded that caravan holidays were a great way to explore the great outdoors without breaking the bank.

Recently, the National Trust claimed that Brits were losing touch with the countryside - something which can be remedied with a staycation.
