Caravan fridge customers could head to the Lakes

Posted by Greg Throughton

Brits who are planning a staycation after ensuring that their caravan fridges and other mobile home accessories are in order should head to the Lakes.

This is according to South Lakeland District Council, which claimed a trip to one of its local sites could be the perfect remedy for the ash cloud and currency issues facing those travelling abroad.

It explained that the scenery in the area is great for enjoying a break and getting back to nature, whether you are in a group, with a family or part of a couple.

Those visiting the tranquil Lake Coniston or Lake Windermere - the largest in England - will have plenty to do, with picnics, wildlife watching and sailing just a few of the suggested ideas.

"There is simply nowhere else in England like the South Lakes and a holiday in the area can provide memories and deeply emotional reflections to last a lifetime," the council said.

Meanwhile, Guernsey could be another interesting destination for caravan fridge customers, with VisitGuernsey noting that the island is famous for its ice creams, traditional beach kiosks and as the only place in the UK that grows lemons and limes.
