Caravanners urged to visit York

Posted by Linda Davidson

Caravan rooflights owners looking to have a relaxing break this spring may wish to pack up the caravan and head to York.

According to Gillian Cruddas, chief executive of Visit York, the York tourist board, the city's historic and cultural mix means it has something to offer everyone.

She added that the year-round programme of festivals and events means that visitors staying for just a week would only scratch the surface of what there is to see and do in the fantastic city.

"Europe's most haunted city will then be embracing its ghostly ancestors for Spooksfest in March," Ms Cruddas added, which is bound to attract thrill seekers and those interested in the paranormal.

York also has a lot to offer sports lovers as the city's racecourse will be hosting yet another season of exciting racing from May.

Heki caravan rooflights owners have also been urged to visit York Open Studios in April as artists will be throwing open their doors to visitors.
