Check caravan tyres this Easter break

Posted by Freddy Morton

A tyre safety organisation has urged those with Morco caravan water heaters to ensure their vehicle is road safe before the Easter break.

Protyre warned that a large proportion of the UK's two-million caravan owners will be taking to the roads to get away from it all this holiday period and for many this will be the first journey of the year.

It said that storing a caravan during the off-peak season can have a detrimental effect on it, with particular problems usually manifesting in the tyres, making it essential to carry out basic safety checks before setting off.

Caravan and trailing tent owners, including those with Morco caravan water heaters, are advised to replace any tyres that are more than seven years old, irrespective of their condition.

Earlier this month TyreSafe also issued new tyre-pressure and maximum-load guidelines following consultation with experts in the caravan industry.
