Chef making good use of caravan hobs and cookers

Posted by Freddy Morton

A chef is making good use of her caravan hobs and cookers by opening a fish and chip shop in her caravan.

Kerri Stronach set up Blue Cod Blues in a custom-built caravan in Waikawa, New Zealand, five years ago and it has thrived, proving especially popular with tourists during peak season, reports the Southland Times.

The eatery differs from regular caravans in that it has a fully opening tailgate which doubles as a takeaway waiting room.

"People always say how different it is," Ms Stronach added.

And as well as being an unusual place to enjoy a bite to eat, it seems that the Blue Cod Blues serves up a high quality meal, with the newspaper giving its fish and chips a score of ten out of ten.

If you want to make best use of your caravan hobs and cookers when going on short trips this winter, you can make some tasty meals such as a warming stew or get the day going with a delicious fry-up.
