Councillors call for Llanddulas beach investment

Posted by Freddy Morton

Heki caravan rooflights owners who like a trip to the beach during their holiday will be interested to hear that councillors have called for much needed investment in Llanddulas beach.

According to North Wales Weekly News, councillors believe the village is being ignored while millions is being spent on improving nearby Colwyn Bay and Rhos-on-Sea's promenade and strengthening sea defences.

Councillor Brenda Taylor believes that the village's tourism trade is suffering as lack of investment in the beach has led to it becoming a "bomb site".

"The cycle path is covered with shale, chippings and pebbles. It means that there is nowhere for people to walk safely along the foreshore. I get complaints from people who can't walk along there," she told the news provider.

She noted that there are several caravan sites along the coast and investment in the beach would make it more user friendly and improve the village's tourism trade.

A caravan park in Cornwall was recently left with a £10,000 clean-up bill after tens of thousands of starlings flocked there causing damage to caravans, roads, trees and grass areas.
