Did you drain the water system in your caravan before winter?

There is nothing more annoying when arriving for your Easter break in your caravan to find that you have a water leak. If the system was not drained properly then the very cold weather that we had in early February is likely to have taken its toll.
Your caravan tap and caravan water heater are the main areas of concern. Pipes will often become detached from your caravan tap due to expansion caused when water freezes and in extreme situations where a caravan water heater has not been drained this expansion will fracture a caravan water heater and often the whole heater has to be replaced. The ceramic cartridges inside of most taps are also prone to frost damage.
Carefully check all visible pipework before pumping water into your system and then quickly check for leaks at all of your caravan taps and at your caravan water heater as soon as you turn the water on.
A flooded caravan will take a long time to dry out, particularly at this time of year, so be very vigilant when turning on your water for the first time.
