Flintshire caravan park nominated for prestigious award

Posted by Greg Throughton

Caravan taps owners may be interested to hear that a caravan park in Flintshire has been nominated for a prize in the National Tourism Awards for Wales, reports the Flintshire Chronicle.

The Tree Tops park has been a family run business since it opened in the 1960s and has been nominated in the Best Place to Stay category of the awards.

General manager Andrew Walker, told the newspaper: "This is our 50th year in business, it's an important year for us, so it would be really lovely to win."

He added that the staff at the park work very hard and show a lot of commitment to maintain the high standards which have been set, and recognition for all their hard work would mean a lot.

Over 400 organisations applied for the awards, run by Visit Wales in partnership with the Wales Tourism Alliance, but only 53 were eventually short-listed.

Welsh heritage minister Alun Ffred Jones recently praised the nation's caravan parks for offering visitors a high quality product, which encourages visitors to return year after year.
