Harrogate is a treat for art fans

Posted by Greg Throughton

Holidaymakers, including those with caravan accessories, should consider exploring more of Yorkshire, it has been claimed.

A representative of the Harrogate Tourism Team said that the town has a huge amount to offer visitors and is well worth a trip.

It claimed that the area is especially alluring for those with an interest in arts and collectables.

"Harrogate has some superb independent contemporary and fine art and craft galleries. Visitors are also attracted by the town's status as the 'Antiques Centre of the North' and there is a busy calendar of antique fairs," the representative said.

They added that collectors are unlikely to leave the town empty-handed, as there are a range of shops and dealers which sell everything from costumer jewellery to ceramics and fine art to furniture.

Caravan owners who cannot make it to Harrogate in time for the bank holiday weekend may want to consider visiting in late May for the Yorkshire Antiques and Art Fair.
