Lake District restaurants maintain Michelin stars

Posted by Freddy Morton

Caravan hobs and cookers owners will be able to sample some fine cuisine in the Lake District as the region's two Michelin starred restaurants maintained their status.

The Samling and Sharrow Bay restaurants have both maintained their Michelin Star ratings, offering caravan hobs and cookers owners visiting the area a chance to sample locally-sourced meals.

Sharrow Bay's head chef Mark Teasdale siad: "We've been awarded a Michelin Star for the past fifteen years but it isn't a given that you will achieve it each year; you have to earn the star every time and you need the quality and consistency year on year."

He praised the dedicated team at the restaurant who provide world class food and service meal after meal.

Nigel Mendham, head chef at The Samling, said it was great news for the region and added that he was lucky to work in an area with such an abundance of fantastic local produce.

Food loving caravan hobs and cookers owners have also been urged to sample the top class food on offer in the south-west, which Lonely Planet believes rivals the cuisine available in London.
