Literature fans urged to travel to Norwich

Caravan water heater owners who love nothing better than to curl up with a good book have been urged to travel to Norwich.

According to the New York Times, Norwich has an enduring sense of appeal among literature lovers, who appreciate the city's winding cobbled streets and historic buildings.

Rachel B Doyle, writing for the news provider, said that at first glance the city appear to be another medieval town but under the surface it is a wellspring of author readings and literary festivals.

She added that Booker Prize winners John Banvile and Penelope Lively recently held talks with literature fans.

Author Kazuo Ishiguro, who attneded the city's University of East Anglia, reportedly said: "I love the emptiness and the atmosphere. The scenery is quite unique. There is that feeling of being in a lost corner."

If you are more of a wildlife fan Norwich still has a lot to offer as it is currently preparing to host the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch at the Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden in South Walsham (January 29th).
