Nuclear bunker is 'prime caravan plot'

Posted by Freddy Morton

Owners of Stoves caravan cookers and hobs have been asked to consider a very unusual proposition.

Along with other members of the public, caravan owners have been encouraged to place a bid on a cold war bunker – which is located 15ft underground in Lincolnshire – at an upcoming property auction.

The bunker offers prospective owners a room 15ft by 7.5ft with a solid fuel burner and 300 sq m of private compound, with an auction guide price of £7,000.

Rob Ward, a partner in JHWalter, the property company behind the auction, said that the previous owner placed a caravan on the plot instead of using the bunker.

"It's a very cheap plot for a caravan and it's in a beautiful location with plenty of nice pubs locally. Whether people want a nuclear bunker or not, the plot itself is great," he explained.

In the mean time, owners of Stoves caravan cookers and hobs will not want to miss the Great North Caravan & Motorhome Show at Catterick Caravans at the end of this month.
