Plans approved for caravan park extension at Eyemouth

Posted by Freddy Morton

Caravan rooflights could soon be looked out of at an extended site in Eyemouth, after revised plans were given the go-ahead by councillors.

The Scottish Borders Council said that proposals for 31 static caravans to be installed at Humberts Leisure Land were fine to go ahead with, according to the BBC.

Previously, members of the council turned down a planning request for up to 48 caravans in the same space.

Local residents complained about the potential visual impact the site could have, along with a loss of open space.

However, the new plans now have a gap of at least 60m between the houses around the site and the caravans.

Last year, the original extension bid was put on hold so that talks could be held to improve the location of the caravans and the screening.

Recently, a revamped Sandhaven Holiday Park in South Tyneside opened its doors to caravan rooflight customers following £1.2 million of investment.
