Richmond offers caravan owners 'breathtaking scenery'

Posted by Greg Throughton.

Caravan rooflights owners planning a holiday for the end of the year will be interested to hear that the town of Richmond, in North Yorkshire, has been singled out for offering visitors a wonderful time.

According to recent research from Hotels.com, Richmond is the fastest rising searched-for destinations, gaining a 430 per cent increase in searches for August when compared to the same period last year.

And the pretty town topped the Hotels.com "hot list" for the month of August.

However, those caravan rooflights owners planning to head there are advised to prepare their itinerary well in advance, because, according to Visit Yorkshire, Richmond has so much to offer that a short break may not be long enough.

"Often, a weekend isn’t long enough to explore everything," explained Gary Verity, chief executive of the tourism group.

"Richmond has a rich history and natural beauty in abundance, making it a real visitor magnet - especially for weekend breaks," he added.

Mr Verity recommended exploring the nearby Yorkshire Dales, and heading to the upcoming Walking and Book Festival.
