Scotland is the perfect Easter getaway

Posted by Linda Davidson

People with Truma caravan water heaters have been told that Edinburgh is an ideal getaway for the bank holiday weekends.

Jenna Ciancia, PR executive of VisitScotland, said that visitors to the capital city are likely to enjoy a captivating and surprising experience and there's no excuse not to go as it's easily accessible.

"Edinburgh is the second most popular city in the UK for visitors after London, and it is estimated that in 2009, UK residents made 2.46 million trips to Edinburgh and [the] Lothians, staying for 6.6 million nights, and spent £562 million," she explained.

Ms Ciancia said that the fact visitors return year after year is testament to how enchanting the city is.

Edinburgh Castle is Scotland's most popular paid for visitor attraction, she explained, closely followed by the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh Zoo, Our Dynamic Earth and Edinburgh Bus Tours.

However, Emily, Countess of Stair, of Castle Kennedy Gardens said that those keen on a visit to Scotland should consider the wonderful beaches on the west coast.
