Security 'not a concern for caravan accessories owners'

Posted by Freddy Morton

The safety and security of accommodation is the biggest necessity for those going on holiday, new research has found, which is an area that those with campervan accessories and appliances do not need to worry about.

A new survey carried out by ABTA – The Travel Association has found that the majority of holidaymakers rank this as essential or important.

Financial protection is another key concern, with 79 per cent unlikely to book a break where this type of security is absent.

The location, the range of holidays on offer and good transport links were all important to more than half of those heading off on breaks, the study found.

Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, said that security and protection is important to almost everyone who is taking a break.

He said: "Even in a year when customers are tightening their belts, the lowest cost if not their number one consideration. The message from our customers is loud and clear."

Last month, a spokeswoman at the National Caravan Council advised people with campervan accessories and appliances to take steps to ensure their caravan is insured through the winter months.
