Posted by Freddy Morton

Families staying in camp sites in Lanarkshire have been encouraged to take a stroll from their caravan water heaters and explore a fascinating site nearby.

On July 16th and 17th, the Duncarron Fort in Kilsyth will be presenting a medieval village open weekend, with sights to entertain both mums and dads, as well as the youngsters.

People taking their motorhomes with fitted Reich caravan taps up to Lanarkshire will be pleased to hear that admission to the attraction is free, though some activities inside may have small charges.

There is plenty to see at Duncarron Fort during the open weekend, including an old-style blacksmiths and the Field Hospital, while guests can also try their hands at archery and meet some special knights.

The 12th century attraction was recently visited by Robin Hood actor Russell Crowe too, which adds even more to the appeal of the location.

Caravan owners have plenty of choice of where to stay when visiting the region of Lanarkshire, including the Clyde Valley Caravan Park and Mount View camp site.
