Tiny caravan is perfect for royal fans

Posted by Greg Throughton

Owners of Waeco caravan fridges planning a visit to London to experience the royal wedding have been pitched a novel idea.

The world's smallest caravan has been cited as the ideal way to bag a prime spot on the royal procession, without having to sleep on the pavement.

Designed to be towed by a standard mobility scooter and measuring no more than 2m long by 75cm wide, the QTvan boasts a 19-inch colour TV, a kettle, a radio alarm clock and a full-size single bed.

Yannick Read, the man behind the tiny caravan, said it had been a joy to create something quintessentially English.

He developed it alongside the Environmental Transport Association to highlight the fact that over 200,000 people with mobility scooters do not have breakdown cover.

"If you develop a fault or run out of battery power and don't have breakdown cover, or a tiny caravan in tow, your only options are to push something that weighs the equivalent of two men home or call a relative with a large car," Mr Read explained.

The miniature caravan is also complete carbon neutral.
