Question

HI, My Carver water heater (in my 1999 Bailey Moselle) seems to be tripping out the main switch in the caravan. I am also having problems with a leaky whale sink tap (which I shall fix shortly) and am wondering if the lack of pressure makes the water heater throw the main switch as a safety measure. I can't really see that happening as the trip switch is a safety device. must be current overload. Unless the immersion heater element in the carver is going into overload because there is no water in it?? any suggestions?

Answer

It appears that the electric element in the water heater has a short circuit and is causing the supply to trip. These elements are now obsolete so unless you can get one from a caravan breaker you will have to run on gas. The tripping problem is not connected to water pressure
