Question

I have recently bought a 1996 Buccaneer caravan fitted with a carver fanmaster heater. On the electric setting the heater only blows cold air. I've left it to run for some time on the slow setting as I understand it needs a while to heat up first however, this didn't make any difference. I haven't tried to use the heater with gas as firstly, I'd prefer to use electricity and secondly, I don't have (or want) a leisure battery and I think one would be required for the ignition. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? I'd be very grateful for any information you can provide. Thanks.

It could be the control board, our ref. 126153, or it could be caused by failure of the heating element itself.
With regard to operating on gas then you should always have a leisure battery connected to ensure that the transformer/charger operates correctly and provides the correct voltage to the other 12 volt equipment such as lights and water pump.
