Question

I need replacement window stays for a 550mm seitz window with lever locks and screw on fitting. What is the difference between 'auto' window stay and just window stay in your listings? Which do you suggest I buy?

Answer

The auto window stay works on a ratchet type system where as you open the window the ratchet will hold the window in a number of positions without the need to tighten a locking screw. To close the window it is necessary to open the window fully before the ratchet system is overcome and the window can be closed.
The standard window stay, where a screw knob is tightened to hold the window in the desired position, is generally preferred particularly if you have children determined to open and close windows.
