Caravan given artistic makeover

Posted by Greg Throughton

A duo in Scotland have transformed a caravan into a mobile art gallery, people with Dometic caravan fridges have been told.

According to the Scotsman, Julie McCurdy and Abi Lewis from Silverknowes came upon the idea in a bid to make art more accessible to people who may not be able to get out of the house.

The pair will be travelling around homes, hospitals, public spaces and businesses across Edinburgh to give less-mobile residents a taste of the upcoming festival.

"We've been wanting to do something like this for a while, especially for old or ill people, or those who can't afford to make it through [to the city centre]," Ms McCurdy told the newspaper.

She added that the caravan will exhibit a defining piece of artwork by each contributor and that everything displayed will be available for sale.

This year Edinburgh's Art Festival will be running from August 4th to September 4th.
