- How do I drain the water system on a touring caravan?    (Please Click)

 Technical Quick Q & A

Q - Does my Trumatic heater have a battery for the ignition? If so where is it located?
A - Trumatic heaters have an AA battery, which is located at the bottom of the heater on the left hand side behind a small black shutter.

Q - How do I tell if my cassette toilet is left or right handed?
A - When seated on the toilet, if the outside wall of the caravan is to your left, the cassette is left handed and vice versa.

Q - I have a leak from my carver casade water heater. What is the most likely cause?
A - The leak is most likely coming from the cold water inlet fitting (bottom right when looking at the rear of the heater) or the hot water outlet (top right when looking at the rear of the heater). These fittings tend to become brittle with age and crack near the screw thread. If the fitting snaps off when you try to remove it, it will be necessary to carefully cut the piece left in the body in four positions with a fine hack-saw being sure not to damage the face of the heater body. Chip out the pieces of the fitting with a small screw driver.

Q - When I put my Truma Ultrastore water heater onto gas it cuts out after a few seconds.
A - The most common reason for this is failure to remove the flue cover from the outside of the vehicle. This causes a lack of air for combustion.
