Question

You recently sent me a new Shurflo RV fresh water pump for my 2001 Bessacarr caravan. The pump has two wires coming from it - red (which I have connected) and black, presumably for earth. What do I connect the black earth wire to? The only available socket is at the end of two wires, one white and the other white and orange. Is that earth??

The white wire will normally be 'earth'. Before connecting this to the black wire put a voltmeter between the red wire and the white wire to see if it registers 12 volts. If you have an isolating switch for the pump you will need to switch this on.
