Outwell Tent Collection
They offer strong collections of outstanding designs with ‘must have’ appeal to suit all family campers’ desires. Outwell never cut corners- in material, quality control and customer services. Everybody in the camping industry knows full well that the Outwell name guarantees an excellent experience. The growing numbers of those taking up camping, promise exciting times ahead and Outwell have responded with the promise to continue to serve their customers and the camping community with energy, commitment and truly exceptional products, which drives Outwell to bring highly innovative products to the market that act as a foundation upon which to build the happy memories of fantastic family holidays. How do Outwell’s Quick & Quiet Inner Doors work?
Comfortable sleeping is at the top of Outwell’s agenda and the Quick & Quiet Inner Door enables campers to leave and access bedrooms without noise or fuss. There is a silent magnetic strip closure down the centre, which can be parted easily to slip through and will close automatically without a sound. The development of this award-winning Outwell Quick & Quiet Inner Door innovation was a huge hit with campers and proved to be an award winner with outdoor media advocating its inventiveness, effortlessness and hands-on value. Its soft and silent magnet closure ensures other campers are not disturbed by noisy zip opening through the night, which can be especially tricky if your children are light sleepers or the parents have had one too many. Upon the success of the inner door, Outwell have extended the practical use of this ingenious innovation by developing the Quick & Quiet System for the wall between the living area and the third zone in our three-zone tent. You will find out more about this later, when we discuss the Outwell Premium Collection, the Outwell Superior Collection, the Outwell Prime Air and the Outwell Imperial Air Collection. The Quick & Quiet Access can be closed fully with magnets, backed by a zipper, and by zip-up window curtains. Depending on how much privacy, space and light you want in each section of the tent, you can roll away each half of the Quick & Quiet Access separately. If it is rolled away completely and toggled to the sides of the tent, you are left with one massive living area. A very simple, but ingenious addition to the Outwell tents! Why do Outwell’s tents all have Dark Inner Bedrooms?
There are other features that support Outwell’s Sleep Comfortable idea and there’s so much more to experiencing Outwell® sleep comfort than just their comfy beds and cosy sleeping bags. Outwell’s designers have invented an all-round answer for campers to experience fab nights asleep in their large bedrooms. They have managed to cut out external light in bedrooms by using Dark Inners and dark flysheet panels. Picture it now, tucked up snugly in the darkness, there are no external light sources to disturb a full night’s sleep for you and your loved ones. That dark effect is especially welcome on sunny mornings………..who want the kids to be awake at sunrise and then exhausted and horribly cranky by lunchtime?! The dark panels in the tent fabric used above bedrooms support this dark Inner and emphasise the contrast with the bright living area that is present in all the Outwell tents, many with a wide Panorama outlook. Outwell’s standard bedrooms are generous compared to the industry standards, but nearly all of the ranges we will discuss below have bigger Premier bedrooms (215cm in length) and some have Ambassador Master Bedrooms, that you can even fit a bit of camping furniture in too, with plenty of room to stretch out. These Ambassador Master Bedrooms offer full headroom, a large floor area, mains cable entry points, storage pockets and a generous 230cm length. How do Outwell achieve excellent Ventilation in their tents?
Any seasonal camper knows that ventilation in your tent is key to a comfortable adventure. Flexible cross-flow ventilation is fundamental to maintaining a comfortable atmosphere inside all tents. Not only throughout the day, especially when doors are closed to keep out wind and rain, but also for sleep comfort when the whole family is tucked in for the night. Outwell’s adjustable cross-flow ventilation options, boosted by high and low vents protected from the elements, ensure Outwell campers can stay in control and in comfort whatever the weather. For front ventilation there are two zip sliders on the proofed fabric and insect-proof mesh side doors so that you can pick from a flexible variety of ventilation scenarios. Depending on what the time of day and what your needs are, different door opening options can be selected for easily adjusted access and airflow. The new Rear Ventilation system for Outwell involves an aerodynamic design that allows campers to regulate temperature and fresh air flow in a tent without compromising stability and shelter. There is a sewn-in mesh screen that keeps the tent insect-free. Bedroom inner tent vents have curtains to adjust airflow, whilst still keeping day light out. All the Outwell family tents now have full insect proof mesh behind the tent side doors that can be opened fully to allow plenty of extra ventilation whilst keeping insects out. There are also low vents (also insect-proof) made from mesh panels positioned beside and opposite tent side doors that can be opened or closed easily to adjust the air flow at floor level for extra ventilation if it is especially warm weather.Outwell’s HookTrack System explained!
Outwell’s HookTrack System innovation really is ingenious………a clever yet completely undemanding notion designed to deliver safety and convenience for you campers. It is completely reliable in function and so easy to use. It allows you to securely route wires around the inner of your home away from home. Wires for lighting and other electrical devices are therefore out of the way, avoiding breakage and trip hazards. Also, you can put up lights wherever you need them and you can dry light items like towels, teatowels and coats on lines. You can attach HookTrack clips to the unobtrusive piping (durable and sturdy, transparent piping) of the HookTrack so you can securely and neatly fit lighting, like the Outwell LED strip lights, which really adds a whole new level of convenience to tent living. Why is it important to consider the material the tent is made from?
Another very important factor you must consider when buying a tent is the flysheet material. What will suit you best will depend upon how long your camping trips might be, what times of year you will want to go camping, where you may like to adventure, home or abroad, and the budget you have. Outwell tailors all their own fabrics to meet specific needs of the targeted family camper. The technology behind each fabric works in collaboration with the tent’s design to provide the best possible performance and ensure the perfect holiday experience. When it comes to designing a family tent, Outwell consider every aspect in order to meet and exceed expectations. This includes the materials used and they work very closely with material manufacturers to create unique quality fabrics that enhance performance to ensure a family can camp in comfort, safety and style. All their fabrics are based on either 100 per cent polyester fibres that are treated and woven to maximise resistance to UV-light and the rigours of outdoor life, or their own blend of cotton and polyester to produce a breathable technical cotton that helps maintain a tent’s microclimate at a comfortable level, not dependant on the temperature outside. It also really minimises condensation on the inside walls of the tent. Outwell’s polyester fabrics are PU-coated which provides muchly elevated levels of waterproofness and the tight weave of Outwell’s polycotton fabric is supported by a hard-wearing water repellent treatment, which enables it to resist water permeation until the cotton swells to close the gaps in the weave so no more water can enter. However, water vapour can still pass across the fabric to inhibit internal condensation. Let’s take a closed look at each of Outwell’s tent materials, so that you can decide which one will give the optimum performance for you and your family. Outwell’s standard material, Outtex 3000 Select is anything but standard!
Outwell’s standard tent material, the hardworking Outtex® 3000 Select is anything but standard. Ideal for general camping, the fabric is a great-all-rounder that will keep you dry and comfortable throughout your summer camping holidays so you can kick back and relax. Made from high quality polyester with a weight of just 64g/m2, it’s lighter than our other tent fabrics making it a brilliant choice for touring and shorter breaks. The material’s Taffeta weave offers strength, while all-weather protection comes from its special features. These include a UPF 30+ rating for in-built sun protection and a waterproof PU-coating with a 3,000mm hydrostatic head. This means the tent can handle all but the most extreme weather conditions. The fabric also is fire resistant with a ISO5912 rating, which is the industry standard for anti-flammability. The Outwell Encounter range is made from the Outtex 3000 Select fabric. Why is the Outwell Outtex 4000 Select fabric stronger than the Outtex 3000?
Looking for a tough, high quality tent fabric that can meet the rough and tumble of outdoor family life? The Outtex® 4000 Select fits the bill perfectly. The Taffeta polyester weave is stronger and more durable than our standard tent material, making it even more resistant to rips and tears. While the material’s waterproof PUcoating has a 4,000mm hydrostatic head, which is 30% higher than our standard material. This makes it watertight even on the rainiest days. As most campers like to follow the sun, you’ll be pleased to know the fabric also has a UPF 30+ rating, to keep your family safe from harmful rays. A little heavier than the standard model due to the extra strength and waterproofing, the fabric weighs 73g/m2 , which is still pretty lightweight for easy travels. A ISO5912 rating, which is the industry standard for fire resistant tent materials rounds up the fabric’s features. The Outwell Prime Air and the Selection collections of tents are made from this Outtex 4000 Select material.Which tent fabric will allow me to camp throughout the year in the UK?
Do you love to camp throughout the year? Then you need to go pro. Made for serious campers, Outtex® 6000 Pro is a top-level polyester fabric that is packed with amazing features. Like the reinforced Oxford weave that makes it tougher and more resistant to rips and tears than other polyester fabrics. Or the PU waterproof coating with a whopping 6,000mm hydrostatic head, which is twice that of our standard tent fabric. The higher the hydrostatic head, the more waterproof a tent is – and the 6000 Pro offers peace of mind, whatever the weather. The 6000 Pro also has our highest level of sun protection, with a UPF 50+ rating to keep you safe from harmful rays. These additional features do make the fabric slightly heavier than our other polyester materials, weighing in at 108g/m2 . But this is still light enough for easy carrying from car to campsite. As expected, the material meets the industry standard ISO5912 rating for fire resistance. The Outwell Premium Collection of tents is made from the Outtex 6000 Pro.What makes the Outwell Outtex 6000 Endurance RS so special?
Live life outdoors anytime, anywhere with Outtex® 6000 Endurance RS (Ripstop). Built to last, the Endurance RS is top of the league of tent fabrics. The next level up to the Outtex® 6000 Pro, the Endurance RS is a dense material with the addition of a double wall ripstop. This makes the fabric exceptionally strong and prevents small tears spreading. Meaning the fabric can handle whatever you throw at it, making it a great investment that will last for years. On top of this, the Endurance RS boasts a 6000 hydrostatic head to withstand any downpour, while a UPF 50+ rating keeps you safe on sunny days. The Outtex® 6000 Endurance RS is tough enough to handle even the most extreme weather. The Outwell Superior Air Collection is made from this Outtex Endurance RS fabric. Which Outwell fabric will inhibit condensation the most?
The Outtex® Airtech takes camping comfort to new levels. Made from polycotton, which is a polyester and cotton mix; this material combines the best of both fabrics. Extra breathable, the material keeps the tent fresh and ventilated, even on the hottest or most humid of days. While on rainy days, the Outtex® Airtech’s special water repellent coating and dense weave means rain will bead and roll off. At the same time, the fabric’s natural fibres will swell, increasing the water resistance yet allowing water vapour to escape, eliminating condensation inside the tent. Another amazing feature is that the fabric’s heavy weight acts like a noise barrier, blocking ambient sounds from outside while you’re in the tent so it is easier to relax during the day and sleep at night. Polycotton is not a light material, weighing in at 210g/m2 , and therefore not suited for backpacking or touring. But it is exceptionally tough and durable, offering the ultimate in camping comfort for family summer holidays for many years to come. The Outwell Imperial Air Collection is made from this Outtex Airtech fabric.
You can stay safe from the elements all day long with Outtex® 1500 Select Silver. This high quality, lightweight polyester fabric with a weight of 97g/m2 has a special heat reflective silver coating, which helps to keep things shady and cool when you’re sitting under it. It has fabulous sun protection, which comes from the UPF 50+ rating, so the whole family can happily eat, dine and play in comfort, even in hot sunny weather. The PU-coating works as a waterproof barrier, providing a 1,500mm hydrostatic head. This is easily enough to cope with light to moderate rain showers. For extra safety, the material is also fire resistant, giving you the perfect cover for summer fun in the garden, park or campsite.
With a UPF 50+ rating, Outtex® 1500 Pro Silver material has been designed to keep you safe from the sun. This hardwearing polyester fabric with a weight of 155g/m2 features an Oxford weave that is stronger and more durable than standard weave, making it a great choice for windy beaches, gardens or campsites. A heat-reflective silver coating on the inne,r helps keep the fabric cooler and more comfortable to sit under. Rain protection comes in the form of a special PU-coating, which adds a waterproof barrier and hydrostatic head of 1,500mm. This will keep you dry in light and moderate rain showers. On top of this, the material is fire resistant, so you and your family can stay protected all summer long. What are the main features of the Outwell Prime Air Tent Collection?

The Outwell Dark Inner system incorporates a dark roof and side panels which hugely help to reduce light entry into the bedrooms, which definitely aids optimum sleep quality. Maybe you have little ones that will still need an early night every so often, or perhaps you just love a lie-in! There is nothing worse than the whole family being up as the sun rises and then tires and cranky by lunch time. This Dark Inner system, along with the dark curtains over the mesh vents to further control light entry, will give you the peace of mind that all your campers sleep needs will be met! As we have discussed earlier, the Outwell Quick and Quiet Doors, with the magnetic strips sewn into the vertical seam of the inner doors, allows you an easy and noiseless entry and exit to your bedrooms. No more tense, slow zip openings when you need the toilet in the night and you are afraid of waking up the children! Although the Outwell Prime Air tents do also have zips for a more secure closure if you want it……the best of both worlds! What is Outwell’s Rigid Air System and Aerodynamic Storm Protection?
The Outwell Prime Air tents have been cleverly designed to have Aerodynamic Storm Protection, as the aerodynamic shape of the tent ensures as much stability as possible in windy conditions. Another great feature, that will allow you to travel and stay safely protected in the unpredictable british weather.
Outwell’s Rigid Air System in their Prime Air tents consists of individual tubes that are very simply inflated and deflated separately via easy access external valves. If you are ever unfortunate enough to have the unlikely event of one of the very robust air beams to be punctured, all the other beams will remain totally unaffected, ensuring you and your loved ones will be safe from the elements, until it can be fixed. These Prime Air tents also have Toggle Up Curtains, which can be easily and conveniently rolled up with toggle fixings on each window. This feature allows you to have as much daylight in your tent as you require or as much privacy!
The Outwell Prime Air tents are all made from the fabulous Outtex 4000 Select material. This is a very tough, high performance tent fabric that meets the rough and tumble of outdoor family life with absolute ease. The Taffeta polyester weave is much stronger and more durable than other standard tent materials, making it even more resistant to rips and tears. While the material’s waterproof PUcoating has a 4,000mm hydrostatic head, which is 30% higher than the Outwell 30000 Select material, ensuring you will stay dry even on very rainy days. Let’s be honest, we all love camping in sunny weather, but it is important to protect our loved ones from UV so you’ll be pleased to know the fabric also has a UPF 30+ rating, to keep your family safe from harmful rays. Prime Air tents made from this Outtex 4000 material are slightly heavier than the standard model due to the extra strength and waterproofing, the fabric weighs 73g/m2. However, this is still pretty lightweight making for easy transport and storage. Most campers would prefer to have the extra protection of the elements and longevity of the tent, along with a slight increase in weight. With an ISO5912 rating, it completely meets the industry standard for fire resistant tent materials.
If you are looking for a smaller Outwell Prime Air tent, the Outwell Lindale 3 person Air tent is ideal for touring and although it could sleep three in a premier bedroom, it is an ideal tent for couples wanting to adventure in style and comfort. The pre-shaped air tubes ensure great stability in windy conditions, but also ensure you will have ample headroom as it is designed to have steeper sides to maximise the possible internal space. The Outwell Lindale has great air flow, due to the Rear Ventilation System that offers options from fully open to sealed up due to a concealed zip. The D-shaped frontage, with the stylish rain-safe canopy gives shelter from the rain or a sun shade on warmer expeditions. The Outtex 4000 Select fabric has a 4.000mm hydrostatic head and along with its hard-shell design, it will keep you dry and warm. As you would expect, the full mesh panels behind the door allow air circulation, but keep the nasty biting bugs out. Along with the HookTrack System for versatile positioning of lights and for hanging items (described above), the mesh pockets in the inner tent help you to keep all your important camping equipment and luxuries safe and handy. It really does have a bright, cheerful internal atmosphere, mainly due to the light, warm toned flysheet roof and the villa like construction. If you are a small family or just a couple who like the extra space, then you may want to consider the Outwell Lindale 5 person Air tent. For not a lot more money, you are gaining a great deal more space, but still have all the excellent Outwell Prime Ait tent features.
If you are looking for a tent within the Outwell Prime Air Collection, but you would like additional living space the Outwell Parkdale 4 person Air tent is a fabulous family tent that literally packs tonnes of features in, but is still compact. It really is the perfect shelter for quick, last-minute getaways with the whole family in tow. As with all the Outwell Air tents, it can be pitched in a matter of minutes, thanks to it’s easy to use inflatable system, so you will be sat back, with your feet up, favourite tipple in hand, within no time at all. It is an extremely sturdy and rigid tent, which means you can pitch it year-round and not worry too much about what the weather decides to do. The living spaces in the Outwell Parkdale 4-person tent are well though out and can sleep up to 4 happy campers. The sleeping area, at the rear of the tent, features two bedrooms, measuring an impressive 215cm in length and over 280cm in width. In front there is the main living space, 180cm in length and then a front porch area, another 220cm. Again, this tent is ideal for couples wanting extra space (or perhaps you take your dogs on your adventures) or a smaller family. As there are extra windows (that have toggled curtains for full privacy and light reduction), the atmosphere in the Parkdale is very light and airy and this design, with its innovative features, really does maximise flexibility for active campers…….the ultimate utility tent for busy families on the go!Are you looking for a large family Outwell Prime Air Tent?
The Hook Track system in the Outwell Parkdale is ideal for suspending lights and storage as it runs around the edge of the roof and then also through the middle. The Quick and Quiet magnetic doors make sure there is no disturbing zip noises in the night, by just gently pulling the magnetic strips apart and then they magically close behind you. However, if you want the dogs or the children more securely contained, there is a zip closure as well. If this layout fits the bill for your family, but you find it hard to travel light, or you just like the extra space, the Parkdale also comes in a bigger size, the Outwell Parkdale 6 person Air Tent which will almost certainly have everything larger families need for relaxed and convenient camping trips whatever the weather!
If you are looking for an Outwell Prime Air tent that is slightly quirkier in shape, then take a look at the Outwell Hartsdale 6 person air tent. It is a bright and airy tunnel tent that sleeps up to six happy campers in two dark premier bedrooms, but also has a side wing which offers a great deal of flexibility to your camping trips. It could be a lounge area, an extra storage place or a fab place for the kids to play. It has lots of windows and a deep canopy over the vertical front wall, offering great shelter from the sun or rain and even more storage if you need it.
If you are a larger camping group, have the family dog(s) with you or you are just partial to uncramped adventures, then the Outwell Sundale 7 person Air tent is capable of offering a whole new level of convenience to your group camping experience. It poses great comfort and practicality with its three-zone design. The large porch at the front of the tent gives a panoramic outlook, so you can easily take in the stunning surrounding when on your travels. Behind the porch, is the main living space, that has a sewn in groundsheet to keep out draughts and create a much cosier feel and with the large mesh windows you get lots of light it, but also privacy at the same time. The top tent canvas is light in colour, adding to the roomy inside ambience. At the back of the Outwell Sundale is the sleeping area, with 3 compartments of differing sizes, so that all you family member’s needs can be met. Along with the rear ventilation system, Quick and Quiet inner doors, the useful Hook Track for lighting and storage, this really is the ideal tent for the larger family. It also has to be worth mentioning that this awesome large tent can be pitched up within about 10 minutes, leaving oodles of time for family frolicking and fun!
Even larger in size is the Outwell Queensdale 8 person Air Tent and you will simply love the huge amount of space available and the flexibility of four bedroom compartments, as it has an inner tent in the living area, offering the option of a guest bedroom, ideal for visiting friends. If not, it can be easily removed for extra living space, or used as a play den or storage area to hide all your camping paraphernalia. The many doors throughout this tent can be easily rolled away to let fresh air circulate and embrace the outdoors…….the Outwell Queensdale is the perfect happy holiday home that your family and friends can enjoy together for many dependable years. Which Outwell Prime Air Tent is new to the collection for 2022?
New for the 2022 season in the Outwell Prime Air Collection is the Outwell Knightdale 8 person Air Tent, that can sleep up to eight in three bedroom compartments. One of the sleeping compartments is at the front of the tent, which offers the possibility of sleeping a little distance away from the children if they are older, or allowing your older children some independence away from the rest of the family. With a huge, light and airy, central living space, this is a brilliantly design family tent. If you are interested in the newest Outwell tent designs, but don’t want such a large tent then the Outwell Jacksondale 5 person Air tent or the Outwell Avondale 5 person tent (which also come in six person size, Outwell Avondale 6 person Air Tent), could suit you down to the ground. All have all the original outstanding Outwell Prime Air features, but the layouts and entrances have been tweaked to make sure every single campers needs and desires are met!How do the Outwell Superior Air Tents differ to the Prime Air tents?
If you are lucky enough to have a slightly bigger budget and want that bit more luxury, then have a look at the Outwell Superior Air Collection. Whether you’re a diehard camper or a newbie to the camping scene, if you want quality and character, optimum performance, innovation, durability and the very best in ventilation then the outstanding Outwell Superior Air Collection of inflatable tents will, without a doubt, be right up your street. The Outwell Superior Ait Collection offers unparalleled performance and comfort in the design detail and is made from the superior Outtex 6000 RS Endurance fabric. This is a super strong, durable material, with a double ripstop weave for excellent tear strength, meaning small tears won’t spread. With a waterproof hydrostatic head of 6000mm, your Outwell Superior Air tent can’t withstand any downpour the unpredictable British weather can offer. Also, a UPF 50+ rating keeps you safe on sunny days, so the Outtex® 6000 Endurance RS tents are tough enough to handle even the most extreme weather and can literally handle whatever your travels will throw at them!
You’ll relax in style confident you can enjoy all-weather camping in a trusted base for treasured family holidays, with any of the Outwell Superior Air, but what other features do these amazing tents offer? Their Power Air System is made up of very robust individual tubes that are easily inflated and deflated separately via external valves, meaning in the unlikely event one air tube is punctured, the rest of the tent still performs, keeping you and your loved ones safe from the elements, until it can be repaired. The Superior Air tents have an extra tube can be attached manually which gives the overall structure even more stability. Also, the aerodynamic shape of the Outwell Superior Air tents gives Aerodynamic Storm Protection, ensuring optimum stability in windy conditions. Great peace of mind if you are adventurous and don’t want one or two windy nights stop you and your loved ones from having fun.
The Outwell Superior Air tents have Zip-Up Curtains which allow you to choose exactly how much daylight you would like to enter or precisely the amount of privacy you require. The curtains have a clever zip attachment system, which is very quick and easy to use. Even though these tents have a bright, airy feel inside the main living area, the bedrooms all have a Dark Inner. The dark roof and side panels greatly reduce light entry into the sleeping quarters, which really helps to optimise the sleep quality of your camping crew. If you have little ones in tow that need an early night, these dark inner bedrooms will help you settle them quickly and hopefully will stop them waking the whole family at sun rise, maybe evening allowing the adults a lie-in! There are also dark curtains over the mesh vents which further control light entry. As with all the Outwell tents we have discussed so far, these Superior Air tents also have the fabulous Quick and Quiet Inner Door system, which are magnetic strips sewn into the vertical seam of the inner doors. They literally open with a minimal push and them magically close behind you. A great feature if you hate the midnight, tense, slow zip opening so as not to wake the crew, that always occurs when you have had a few too many that evening.
The ventilation in these Outwell Superior Air tents is definitely worth looking into. To get the ultimate rest and relaxation on your holidays, superior ventilation is essential for maintaining a perfect inner climate. Outwell have positioned their large vents optimally to amplify unhindered airflow around you tent and this is enhanced by large mesh panels behind exterior doors to boost the flow of air, but remain bug-free inside. Excess condensation is ultimately controlled by the ability to crack the main door open at the top to catch any breeze. All vents are easily accessible and as you can manipulate them from closed to fully open, you can choose the airflow through your holiday home.

Perhaps a play area for the children (and at the end of the day you can close it up to hide all the toys), maybe a coy corner for you to curl up and read a book, or an extra storage area, where the bags and bits and bobs can be hidden away, or as an extra sleeping area for when friends arrive unexpectantly.
