The door will open either way
The Dometic RC10.4 comes out of the box with a right hinge. You can then however easily take the door off and turn it upside down and the shelves inside the door will adapt.

Why choose a Compressor Fridge over an Absorption Fridge?
The compressor fridge performs far better in higher ambient temperatures as it has the best cooling power in its class relevant to outside ambient temperature. This means if you travel to hotter areas of Europe or beyond, then the compressor fridge would suit you far better. An absorption fridge will struggle to perform well with ambient temperatures over 31/32 degrees. Compressor fridges are also more energy efficient than absorption fridges. Another advantage is that as compressor fridges do not run off gas there is no need to vent them to the outside. This means you will not need to cut a hole in the side of your van as the compressor fridge can be ventilated internally into your van.

1 FAQ on the Dometic RC10.4T 90 Compressor Fridge

There is a lot of ice formation in the refrigerator. How can this be fixed?
Check that the door closes properly. You can easily test this yourself by placing a torch in the refrigerator. If you see a light slit along the edge of the door opening, then the door must be closed properly or newly hung.

Perhaps the thermostat is set higher than necessary. Or food with a high degree of saturation has been placed in the refrigerator, forming condensation on the evaporator. We recommend thawing the refrigerator and drying it properly. Afterwards, bear in mind these possible causes.

i bought this Dometic RC10.4T 90 for my Boxer campervan conversion. Im not expecting any problems with it as its Dometic - so far so good - neat little trick with the door opening both ways without changing handles etc. Easy to fit, and very quiet - good capacity size too.

Was delivered upside down by courier as the box had split open 😕 but hopefully will be working fine. I love the quality of the finish to the front and the door opening either direction. Very handy. In my opinion worth the extra over the Thetford equivalent just for the facia finish alone, no messing about with facia panels for me. 😎
