The PowerPart Compact PDU System & Vegas Control Panel provides the complete electrical solution for campervan conversions, combining mains power distribution, 12V systems and intelligent control in one comprehensive kit. This plug-and-play system includes a compact 307mm x 262mm x 93mm PDU unit, complete pre-wired harness system and Vegas control panel to simplify electrical installation for DIY converters working on Transit, Sprinter, Ducato, VW T4/T5, Crafter, Boxer and similar van conversions. The integrated 25A RCD provides four 230V outputs through a 16A MCB whilst a 6A MCB powers the internal 150W power supply that converts 230V AC to 13.8V DC for all leisure systems.

Designed for converters who want professional results without complex wiring, the kit features 12 separately fused 12V outputs covering all essential circuits including auxiliary, lights, hob/oven, heater, pump, toilet, control panels, fridge circuits, leisure battery and vehicle battery connections. The pre-wired harness breaks out from the PDU with 1-metre feeds to each appliance terminated with 6.3mm spade connectors, plus a 2-metre cable to the Vegas control panel for easy installation throughout your conversion. The system includes ignition switching for fridge and heater circuits, permanent feeds for essential systems and optional water probe connections for tank monitoring.

The Vegas control panel matches two C-Line units in size and provides master switching for all non-essential circuits, separate lights and awning controls, plus voltage monitoring and optional water level indication. Installation requires competent electrical work and proper earthing to chassis and gas systems, with the PDU needing 75mm clearance around ventilation slots for cooling. The system works with standard AGM and lead-acid leisure batteries but requires batteries with built-in charge management for lithium systems, whilst the float charger function won't work with smart alternators found in newer vans.

What's Included in the Kit
Your PowerPart converter kit arrives with everything needed for a complete electrical installation. The heart of the system is the compact PDU unit housing both 230V consumer protection and 12V distribution with an integrated 150W power supply for battery charging and 12V appliance operation. The unit includes one 25A RCD, two MCBs (16A for sockets, 6A for internal supply), 12 replaceable automotive fuses, one poly fuse and a power supply isolation switch for maintenance work.
The pre-wired harness system eliminates complex manual wiring with plug-and-play connections throughout. You'll receive separate 230V and 12V harnesses, a mains inlet connection cable and earth bonding cable for chassis and gas pipe connections. The 12V harness provides individual 1-metre feeds for lights, auxiliary circuits, fridge, heater, hob, toilet and pump connections, all terminated with 6.3mm spade terminals for quick appliance connection.
The Vegas control panel completes the package with professional switching and monitoring capabilities. This dual-section panel combines a button control section with master, lights, pump and awning switches alongside a voltmeter display section showing leisure battery voltage. The panel connects via a 2-metre cable to the PDU and mounts in a standard double C-Line aperture. Installation instructions and wiring diagrams are included to guide competent installers through the setup process.

PDU Specifications
The PDU measures 307mm wide, 262mm high and 93mm deep, requiring secure mounting using all four fixing points to prevent vibration damage. The unit operates on 230V AC 50Hz input with a wide voltage tolerance from 190V to 264V for European compatibility. Protection comes from a 30mA RCD and dual MCB arrangement - the 16A MCB handles up to four 13A socket outlets whilst the 6A MCB protects the internal transformer and charging circuits.
The integrated 150W power supply delivers 13.8V DC at up to 20A for 12V appliances and includes a 6A three-stage battery charger with boost, equalisation and float phases. Twelve individual 12V circuits protect specific loads through automotive blade fuses: vehicle battery (F1/F2 25A), leisure battery (F2 25A), permanent circuit (F5 5A), lights (F12 15A), auxiliary (F11 15A), pump (F9 10A), toilet (F9 10A), heater (F8 10A), hob (F10 5A), control panels (F3/F7 5A), fridge permanent (F1 15A) and ignition output (F13 5A poly fuse).

Ventilation requires 75mm minimum clearance around the unit's slots to prevent overheating during operation. The internal fan operates automatically when loads exceed 5-8A, switching off during low-load periods for silent night operation. Temperature monitoring protects against thermal overload whilst short circuit and overload protection on all outputs prevents system damage. The unit includes relay switching for lights and pump circuits with normally open and closed configurations for different operational requirements.

Vegas Control Panel Features
The Vegas control panel splits into two functional sections within a double C-Line sized housing. The button panel provides four key switches: master power for all non-essential circuits, lights control for interior illumination, pump control with force-run capability for system purging, and awning light switching for exterior lighting. The master switch must be active for lights and awning circuits to operate, preventing accidental battery drain when leaving the vehicle.

The display panel features a five-segment LED voltmeter showing leisure battery condition from empty to full charge levels. The voltage button activates the display to show real-time battery voltage, whilst holding both voltage and water level buttons for 6-8 seconds enters calibration mode for water tank sensors. Red and green indicator lights provide visual alerts - red illuminates when waste tanks are full, green shows when the pump is running.

Water level calibration accommodates three probe types: pressure sensors, resistive probes and 5-prong sensors, each identified by different LED patterns during setup. The system takes measurements every 8 seconds when the water level button is held, with successful calibration confirmed by three LED flashes and automatic panel restart. Failed calibration shows two flashes but still saves the reading, allowing multiple attempts until optimal calibration is achieved. Different water sources require recalibration due to varying mineral content affecting resistive probe readings.

Wiring Harness Details
The 12V harness system starts with 300mm leads from the PDU for ignition input, permanent connections and optional water probe installation. The main harness extends 1 metre from the PDU before branching into individual 1-metre circuits for each appliance type. Twin light circuits provide separate feeds for different lighting zones, whilst dual auxiliary circuits support multiple accessory installations throughout the conversion.

Individual circuits include dedicated feeds for 12V compression fridge operation, diesel heater control, hob and oven switching, toilet facilities, water pump operation and a 2-metre cable run to the control panel location. All appliance connections terminate in 6.3mm female spade terminals with hard boot protection for reliable connections in mobile environments. Vehicle and leisure battery connections use robust 2-way and 3-way connectors rated for 25A continuous operation.
The 230V harness comprises a 3-metre mains input cable connecting the PDU to your chosen inlet type, four 2-metre extension cables with connectors for socket installation, and a chassis earthing cable for safety compliance. Cable specifications include 3-core 1.5mm white outer for socket circuits, 3-core 2.5mm orange for the mains inlet and 4mm green/yellow for earth connections. All 230V connections use VLR-06R connectors for plug-and-play socket installation without manual wiring requirements.

Installation Requirements
Professional installation by a competent electrician is mandatory for safety and insurance compliance, with all work following BS7671 wiring regulations and relevant caravan standards BS EN 1648-1 and BS EN 1648-2. The PDU requires secure mounting using all four fixing points to prevent movement during travel, with adequate cable bend radius considered during installation planning. Ventilation clearance of 75mm minimum around all slots prevents overheating, whilst the unit must be positioned away from external heat sources that could affect normal operation.

Electrical connections demand proper earthing to both vehicle chassis and gas supply pipes using the supplied 4mm earth cable. The main 230V supply connects through a suitable inlet with RCD testing recommended every time mains power is connected. Battery installations must be in ventilated compartments with secure mounting and proper fusing at both positive terminals. Leisure batteries require appropriate charging profiles - the integrated charger suits lead-acid and AGM types but lithium batteries need built-in charge management systems.

Access to PDU connections should be restricted to competent persons through secure enclosures or tool-only access locations. The unit's MCBs and RCD require annual testing with loose connections checked on conductors and busbars during servicing. Smart alternator equipped vehicles cannot use the float charging function, requiring alternative DC-DC charging solutions for leisure battery maintenance whilst driving. Water probe installation needs 10mm tank penetration with proper sealing, leaving the pressure tube's air hole unblocked for accurate readings.

Compatible Vehicles
This converter system suits most panel van conversions including Ford Transit (all generations), Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, Fiat Ducato, Iveco Daily and Renault Master models. The compact PDU dimensions work well in standard van conversion layouts whilst the pre-wired harness lengths accommodate typical appliance positions in these vehicle types. VW T4 and T5 installations are particularly straightforward due to the kit's original design parameters.
Horse box conversions benefit from the system's robust automotive-grade components and comprehensive circuit protection suitable for equestrian environments. The kit works equally well in smaller campervans and larger motorhome conversions where space permits the PDU installation requirements. Commercial vehicle derivatives like crew cab pickups and chassis cab conversions can utilise the system with appropriate mounting modifications.

Modern vehicles with smart alternators (typically Euro 6 emissions compliance) cannot use the float charging function as these alternators disconnect when batteries reach full charge. Earlier Euro 5 vehicles with conventional alternators work perfectly with the integrated charging system. The 230V components suit European electrical standards but North American installations would require different voltage ratings and RCD specifications for local compliance.

Optional Accessories
Extend your converter system with BCA's plug-and-play accessories designed for seamless integration. The pressure water probe (maximum 335mm length, trimmable to tank depth) provides accurate tank level monitoring when combined with Vegas control panels featuring water level displays. Resistive and 5-prong probe alternatives suit different tank configurations and water types for reliable level indication.

Extension harnesses expand circuit reach for appliances positioned beyond the standard 1-metre feeds. Water pump extensions (295148), heater ignition extensions (295149) and vent fan harnesses (295150) connect distant appliances without splicing original cables. Pre-wired C-Line sockets (295151), switched fridge sockets (295152) and mains inlets (235661) maintain the plug-and-play installation philosophy throughout your conversion.

The C-Line modular system offers matching switches, sockets and faceplates in various colours including white, black and gun metal finishes.
