Annoying Traits, Research The Set Up

Bought the tomtom camper as i tow a large trailer and caravan on an 8ft width. The old sat navs will send you anyway thats quick or short regardless of if you are a bike or HGV so our upgrade was to avoid problematic routes. First off the set up booklet is a joke with very little helpful info. I managed what i thought was to set the unit up and connect to our wifi. This allowed what i thought was all updates to complete. However throughout our first trip to Scotland the unit regularly wanted to shut down during navigation to “update” and you get just a few seconds to cancel it. In our case it wanted to update POI hardly an essential requirement at the time. We arrived via a good route so was happy with that, however on the trip back it tried to send us via an unsuitable section we knew to avoid as it was relatively close To home! I hope i can work out how to stop it shutting down to update in use. I normally find tips on most things on youtube and since the booklet provides little help its most likely the best option. There is also a my drive app thats recommended to get on your phone but i have yet to work out what the benefits are since i have hands free already. In conclusion this is an expensive unit in comparison to basic units and if you dont make many trips checking your cheaper units route on google maps will save you £’s

saw this tomtom advertised and ordered it online from a great company it arrived very quick and i was especially pleased with the camper add on as i tow a 25 feet caravan all through the summer lots of times just what i needed thanks for a great offer very pleased with my purchase

I have used a Tomtom sat nav in my car for as far back as I remember. Since buying a motorhome the standard one doesn't quite cut-it so I decided to go for this one. I am not disappointed, there are loads of motorhome specific items on here. I particularly like the fact I can put my motorhome dims in and I then have the reassurance that I am not going to be stuck down a small lane (with my pretty large motorhome).
