The OakEV Camper converts a charge point into a standard electrical connector for your caravan. Power your caravan or RV anywhere you can charge your car, an ideal product for when you’re camping off-site or on a driveway.

The OakEV Camper is an EV charge point adaptor that lets you run your caravan, motorhome, or campervan from a public Type 2 electric vehicle charger. It works by communicating with the charge point exactly the way an EV would, then delivering up to 16A of AC power through a standard CEE output — the same connection your existing campsite hookup cable plugs into. The 50cm lead is intentionally compact because it's designed to sit between the charge point and your existing CEE mains lead, not to replace it. If you've got a standard hookup cable, you're good to go.

Is the OakEV Camper safe to use with a caravan or motorhome?

It's fused at 16A — matching the maximum draw of a typical caravan — and its onboard microcontroller continuously monitors incoming current. Should I park directly in the EV bay when using the OakEV Camper?
OakEV recommend parking next to the bay rather than in it where possible, and charging from there. If an EV driver arrives who needs to charge their vehicle, you should give way to them. EV charge points are a shared resource and courteous use of them is important. The OakEV Camper's 50cm lead connects directly to the charge point, and your existing CEE hookup cable then runs from there to your outfit.
Can I use the OakEV Camper at home on a driveway EV charger?
Yes. If you have an untethered home EV charge point — the type where you supply your own cable — the OakEV Camper works exactly the same way as it does at a public charge point. This means you can run mains power to a caravan or motorhome parked on your driveway without needing to install a separate outdoor mains socket, which makes it a cost-effective solution for home storage or pre-trip preparation.
Is the OakEV Camper designed for use outside the UK?
