The CBE PT722 is a microprocessor-controlled water level monitor that displays fresh and waste water tank levels as a percentage on an OLED screen. Unlike older LED systems that show rough quarter-level readings, this touch panel gives you precise percentage readouts from 0 to 100% for both tanks simultaneously. The system works with CBE's SPE electronic sensors (sold separately), which use capacitive sensing technology rather than traditional resistance-based probes.

This 60 x 60mm panel fits CBE's modular plates range and comes complete with a BMAC1C frame, wall-fixing spacer, and two 4-metre sensor cables. You can operate it with just one SPE sensor if you only have a fresh or waste tank fitted, then add the second sensor later when needed. The OLED display only activates when touched, which reduces power consumption compared to constantly-lit LED panels.

The SPE sensors mount on the top surface of your tanks and cannot be cut to size, as this damages the special coating that allows them to function correctly. They're not suitable for metal tanks and require 12V power supply. The panel integrates into CBE's wider modular system, so it sits alongside other switches and displays in a unified installation.

Key Features

OLED Percentage Display Technology
The PT722 uses an OLED screen that shows tank levels as percentages from 0% to 100% in 5% increments. This gives much more precise readings than traditional four-segment LED displays that only show quarter levels. The screen stays off until you touch it, which saves power and extends the display's working life.

Dual Tank Monitoring with Single Sensor Operation
Whilst designed to monitor both fresh and waste water tanks simultaneously, the PT722 works perfectly well with just one sensor fitted. This lets you start by monitoring one tank and add the second sensor later when needed. If only one sensor is connected, the display automatically shows just that tank's reading without any errors.

SPE Capacitive Sensor Compatibility
The panel works exclusively with CBE SPE electronic sensors (sold separately), which mount on top of your tanks and measure water levels without touching the water directly. These sensors have a special coating that must not be damaged, so they cannot be cut shorter to fit different tank depths. Each sensor connects with a 4-metre cable, giving flexibility in where you position the display panel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to buy sensors separately for the CBE PT722 panel?
Yes, the PT722 panel requires CBE SPE electronic sensors which are sold separately. You need to select the correct sensor length based on your tank depth. The sensors cannot be cut to size as this damages the special coating that allows them to function. You can operate the panel with one sensor initially and add a second sensor for your other tank later.
How does the CBE PT722 differ from traditional LED water gauges?
The PT722 displays tank levels as precise percentages from 0 to 100% on an OLED screen, whereas traditional LED gauges typically show only four levels at 25% increments. The OLED display is touch-activated so it only lights up when you press it, saving power compared to permanently-lit LED panels. The microprocessor control also provides more stable readings than analogue resistance-based systems which can drift over time.
Can I install the PT722 panel if I have metal water tanks?
No, the PT722 and its SPE capacitive sensors are not suitable for installation in metal tanks. The capacitive sensing technology measures water level through changes in electrical capacitance, which is disrupted by metal tank walls. The system is designed for plastic water tanks commonly found in caravans and motorhomes. Metal objects near the sensors can also interfere with readings.
Will the 4-metre sensor cables be long enough for my installation?
The PT722 includes two sensor cables at 4 metres each, which suits most caravan and motorhome installations where tanks are located relatively close to the control panel area. For larger motorhomes or unusual layouts where tanks are more distant from your desired panel location, you may need to extend the cables. The cables must be extended carefully using appropriate multi-core cable to avoid signal degradation that could affect reading accuracy.
Why might my PT722 panel show incorrect readings?
Capacitive sensors can give false readings if the SPE sensors become coated with grease, mineral deposits, or debris. Whilst capacitive sensors are less prone to fouling than resistive probes, they still require occasional cleaning. Check that sensors are mounted on the top surface of tanks as specified and are not positioned near metal objects or tank inlets which can interfere with readings. Loose electrical connections at the panel or sensor ends can also cause erratic display behaviour.
Does the PT722 work with other brands of water level sensors?
No, the PT722 is specifically designed to work with CBE SPE electronic sensors only. These sensors use capacitive technology with a voltage output range of 0 to 2.5V that the PT722 microprocessor is programmed to interpret. Standard resistance-based sensors or sensors from other manufacturers will not provide compatible signals. Using non-CBE sensors will result in incorrect readings or no readings at all.
Can I fit the PT722 into my existing CBE control panel?
Yes, the PT722 is designed to integrate with CBE modular plates range. The 60 x 60mm panel fits into single-module frames and can be installed alongside other CBE switches, sockets, and displays to create a unified control panel. The kit includes the BMAC1C frame and wall-fixing spacer needed for installation. If you already have CBE modular components fitted, the PT722 should match the dimensions and styling for a coordinated appearance.
How much power does the PT722 panel consume from my leisure battery?
The PT722 is designed for low power consumption as it operates on 12V DC supply. The OLED display remains off until you touch the panel, which significantly reduces power draw compared to constantly-lit LED displays. The microprocessor and sensors draw minimal current during standby monitoring. This touch-activated design makes it suitable for installations where battery capacity is limited, though exact current draw specifications are not published by CBE.
