HI Tom, I have just bought a campervan that has just the starter battery and 240v system installed that powers the lights and a fridge. I have purchased a split charge relay for a 135ah leisure battery which i will be fitting. I was wondering if i replace the existing 240v lights to 12v LED type, could i power them using a single p116 240v to 12v transformer after the RCD when on mains power?

Answer

Yes, this will be OK but best to take the 12 volt supply from the battery and leave the P116 to simply charge the battery.
