How do you fix the awning pole eyes permanently to the external wall of a caravan ,the wall is a sandwich construction, outer layer glass fibre. Do they still incorporate wood blocks in the sandwich construction for you to screw to ,if not how do you fix to this construction.

Answer

The location where you need to position the eyes will not find any supporting wood in the structure. Securing the eyes purely with self tapping screws into the aluminium is not recommended.
Most awning now come with a bead attached as well as the bead that runs into the awning rail. This second bead is to attach the quick lock pads such as our item 128917, which fasten to the bead and rest against the side of the awning.
If you do not have this second bead then you may wish to use items 131965 which you can glue to your awning and then rest on the side of the caravan.
