To re-seal the awning rail properly you must remove the existing rail from the caravan and clean off all of the existing sealant from the rail and the caravan.
Apply a large bead of a non-setting mastic, such as Carafax IDL, to the awning rail and screw back into position, cleaning off all excess mastic. WD40 is good for removing final traces of mastic from the bodywork.
