I have a leak from my carver casade water heater. What is the most likely cause?

Answer

The leak is most likely coming from the cold water inlet fitting (bottom right when looking at the rear of the heater) or the hot water outlet (top right when looking at the rear of the heater). These fittings tend to become brittle with age and crack near the screw thread. If the fitting snaps off when you try to remove it, it will be necessary to carefully cut the piece left in the body in four positions with a fine hack-saw being sure not to damage the face of the heater body. Chip out the pieces of the fitting with a small screw driver.
