Rapid Replacement For Tired Remis Rooflight - But Take Care Of Sharp Edges!

Fitting as a replacement for a 2008 Remis Vario (700x500) rooflight with wind-up handle, all of which was fine apart from a worn out winding mechanism (no spares available). The installation was very straightforward, using a combination of Arboseal (very controllable, neat and easy) and mastic as appropriate. The winding system is largely the same but evidently redesigned (hopefully more durable). The only caution: beware the razor sharp edges around the clear plastic window moulding, which slice away the skin on your fingers while cleaning the surrounding roof, long after installation. Use fine wet or dry abrasive paper, wrapped around a thin wooden block and used at say 45 degrees, to dull the edges all the way around: even the hinge side.

Remis roof light exactly as described, this was ordered to replace missing dome and other fittings lost whilst on holiday. Staff very helpful and delayed dispatch so that it would arrive the day after I returned. A competative price and first rate service what's not to like.
