  Product Description
The Mestic Mobile Gas Heaters MRK-100M and MRK-100K deliver instant warmth through infrared technology, making them ideal for caravans, motorhomes, awnings, garages, and conservatories. Both models operate on 30 mbar gas pressure and feature piezo electric ignition for reliable startup without batteries or electricity. These portable heaters work by heating objects directly rather than warming air, which means you feel the heat immediately when positioned within range.

Safety remains paramount with multiple built-in protection systems across both variants. The infrared heating method provides efficient warmth distribution, particularly effective in draughty spaces where traditional convection heaters struggle. Caravan owners frequently choose these heaters for shoulder season camping when sites lack electric hookups, whilst motorhome users appreciate the independence from mains power when wild camping.

The key difference lies in their heat output ratings, with both models sharing the same robust construction and safety features. One consideration is that infrared heaters require direct line-of-sight to be most effective, so positioning becomes important in cluttered spaces. Gas consumption varies based on heat setting and ambient temperature, making them economical for intermittent use rather than continuous heating applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the MRK-100M and MRK-100K models?

Both models operate identically with infrared heating, piezo ignition, and 30 mbar gas pressure. The difference lies in their heat output ratings, with the MRK-100K typically providing higher BTU output than the MRK-100M variant.

Can these heaters be used inside caravans safely?

Yes, both models include multiple safety features including oxygen depletion sensors and tip-over protection. However, adequate ventilation is essential when using any gas appliance indoors. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and ensure proper airflow.

What size gas bottle do I need for these heaters?

These heaters operate on 30 mbar pressure and connect to standard propane or butane cylinders via a regulator. Most caravan owners use 6kg or 13kg Calor gas bottles, though any cylinder with appropriate regulator will work.

How does infrared heating differ from conventional gas heaters?

Infrared heaters warm objects and people directly rather than heating air. This means instant warmth when positioned correctly and better performance in draughty spaces. Conventional heaters warm air first, which then circulates to provide heat.

Do these heaters need electricity to operate?

No, both models feature piezo electric ignition which creates a spark mechanically without requiring batteries or mains power. This makes them perfect for off-grid use in locations without electrical hookup.

CAUTION! USE THE MOBILE GAS HEATER ONLY IN WELL VENTILATED AREAS.
