The Eberspächer Airtronic External Diesel Heater Kit transforms your VW T5, T5.1, T6 or T6.1 into a year-round adventure vehicle with reliable heating that won't compromise your living space. This complete AS3 D2L Airtronic 12V system mounts externally under your van, delivering 850 to 2,200 watts of adjustable heat output while keeping the interior free for storage and sleeping. The kit includes everything needed for installation: the heater unit, mounting bracket, Easy Start Pro controller, extended wiring loom, fuel lines with tank pickup, exhaust components, and hot air ducting.

Installation flexibility sets this system apart from interior-mounted alternatives. The heater tilts up to 90 degrees either side and works at altitudes up to 5,500 metres, making it suitable for mountain adventures across Europe. The brushless motor design provides up to 5,000 operating hours of service life, whilst the sensor-controlled startup optimises performance based on ambient conditions. Fuel consumption ranges from 0.10 to 0.28 litres per hour depending on heat output, with electrical draw between 6 to 31 watts.

The Easy Start Pro controller lets you adjust temperature settings from anywhere inside your campervan, with compatibility for web-based control and integration into existing onboard systems via CAN, LIN, or S+ interfaces. Professional installers appreciate the extended wiring loom designed for rear-mounted leisure batteries common in campervan conversions. One consideration is that external mounting requires adequate ground clearance and protection from road debris, particularly on vehicles used for off-road adventures.
