At Alde they understand what it takes to adventure off-grid and explore independently. Alde researches, develops, and manufactures from our headquarters in Sweden. The climate here is perfect for testing heating systems in temperatures down to -35 °C. Our aim is to ensure maximum comfort, even in the toughest conditions. Alde was founded in 1949 by Alde Rask, a person who was determined to develop the ultimate hydronic heating system for recreational vehicles. That commitment to functionality, reliability and performance endures to this day. Making today’s Alde Central Heating system truly, the King of Comfort.
This kit was put together from the experts at Alde specifically for panel van / campervan conversions.
How it works
The Alde central heating system is a hydronic system, it works using the same heating principle as is found in most modern homes. The boiler heats up the glycol fluid using a gas burner or 230 V electric immersion elements.
Hot glycol water circulates around the campervan, through radiators and pipes by means of a pump. The radiators are placed along outer walls. When heated, hot air rises through the radiators. This creates a warm buffer, helping prevent cold walls and condensation over windows.
As the hot air cools, the density changes and the process begins again. Through this natural convection the whole interior of the campervan is warmed to an even temperature.
Alde hydronic central heating offers many benefits
True home from home luxury comfort. It heats every part of the campervan creating an encompassing warmth to ensure total comfort.
The ability to get away from it all, in comfort, whatever the season.
Peace and quiet. The fluid circulates quietly, to ensure minimum intrusion into your leisure time or disturbance of your sleep.
Hot water for showering fast! 10 minutes for a tank of hot shower water.
Low 12 V battery consumption. With the low power consumption, you and your batteries can go further.
More storage. Pipes and radiators are mounted discreetly behind furniture, giving you more usable space in your lockers and cupboards.
Can be linked with underfloor heating.
What is this suitable for? This is designed for those building large van conversions using the Ford Transit, VW Crafter, MAN TGE, Mercedes Sprinter or Fiat Ducato models. It would not be suitable for small panel van conversions, as it requires a minimum amount of radiators to operate, and this minimum amount is too much kW output for a small van.

We have taken the decision to keep our warehouse open to allow customers to buy items during this difficult time. We have taken many precautions to protect the Health & Safety of our staff and to follow the guidelines issued by the government:
All of our office staff are working remotely from home but can still be contacted by email or instant chat.
We are operating a split shift system with the warehouse staff so there is never more than 2 people in the warehouse at once. The two people working together are working in different areas of the warehouse so will be more than 2 metres apart at all times.
