The Dometic CRX 50 12v/24v Compressor Fridge is a smart refrigerator that has a stainless steel effect front, offers 45 l of cool storage, including an optional 4.4 l of freezer space. It’s also superbly efficient and generates minimal noise.

The Dometic CoolMatic CRX-50 Cabinet Fridge Freezer (Marine, Caravan, Motorhome or Campervan Refrigerator) is a cabinet fridge/freezer from the Coolmatic CRX series of 3-in-1 refrigerators. This new patented Dometic invention offers versatility where the freezer compartment can simply be pulled out to make room for a larger fridge or freezer. The desired temperature is set on the soft-touch control panel which is mounted flush in the inner wall and elegantly integrates the LED light. There’s smart electronics behind it: the system regulates the compressor speed and thus achieves energy savings up to 25%!

By automatically adjusting its fan speed to the ambient temperature the CRX 50 also generates minimal noise. It boasts an intelligent electronic control of the compressor speed making it up to 25 % more efficient. With temperature control via the soft touch control panel and a bevelled back edge for a close fit – this is one seriously efficient, intelligent fridge.

The savings are so great and the energy consumption is so low that it could potentially be run off solar panels! Also, due to the practically silent compressor technology it is still able to main temperatures of between 5-7 degrees even in the hot ambient temperatures of Europe.

Perfect for use in boats, campervans and caravans with all the features of the original, standard model together with the added benefit of being able to be used as a conventional fridge/freezer, full fridge or full freezer offering cooling, freezing or both at the same time!

The most space efficient cabinet fridge/freezer able to reduce the cabinets overall depth to fit into the most compact vehicles or compartments with minimal ventilation required from the vehicles actual living space (no need to vent outside the vehicle). WHERE DOES THE CRX GET ITS IMMENSE POWER?

Compressor cooling technology, used in Dometic's CRX series, offers unrivalled cooling power. But how does it work? Well, it relies on a refrigerant that changes from a liquid to gaseous state in the evaporator. The evaporation process extracts heat from the interior of the cooling unit, causing the temperature to drop. The compressor draws in the refrigerant, compresses it and passes it on to the condenser. From here, the absorbed heat is released into the atmosphere. The refrigerant liquefies and flows back to the evaporator, where the cycle begins again. The result of this is an excellent cooling performance, capable of deep-freezing, even at extreme ambient temperatures.

1 FAQ on the Dometic CRX50 Coolmatic Fridge

There is a lot of ice formation in the refrigerator. How can this be fixed?

Check that the door closes properly. You can easily test this yourself by placing a torch in the refrigerator. If you see a light slit along the edge of the door opening, then the door must be closed properly or newly hung.

Perhaps the thermostat is set higher than necessary. Or food with a high degree of saturation has been placed in the refrigerator, forming condensation on the evaporator. We recommend thawing the refrigerator and drying it properly. Afterwards, bear in mind these possible causes.

On coldest setting it draws around 4a for 20 minutes of every hour, so approximately 32ah for a 24h period.

The freezer box is great, keeps ice and Magnums frozen.

Awesome little fridge.

I had my VW T5 van converted and was recommended by fitter. Just took delivery last week and used on the weekend. I am glad I took the advice as this fridge is great. Nearly silent and also looks great with the Flush mounting kit. It is well designed and pretty good quality.

Bought this for a yacht. It fits nicely under my chart table. You can fit a case of 20 bottles of larger in the main fridge and the ice box is amazing, I had ice in my g&t. I'm sure it will be equally as good at keeping food cold but as yet we haven't tried!
