The W4 Rubber Cavity Fixer is for caravan and motorhome owners who need to refit a number plate, a back light cluster or an interior fitting to a panel where a normal screw will not hold. Each pack takes two rubber cavity fixings, and each one has a brass nut set into the rubber insert.

You fit it in an 8mm hole. The M4 nut is 12mm long and the screw is M4 x 25mm. As you tighten the screw into the brass nut, the rubber insert expands and grips the panel around the hole. This fits irregular or oversized holes, and substrates you have not identified. It works in sturdy or hollow material, including metal sheet, plasterboard, plywood, glass and plastic. The rubber and brass build resists vibration and corrosion, which counts for a light or plate on the rear of a vehicle on the road.

Owners also use these fixings to change perished rubber grommets about caravan lights, please check the hole size before ordering.

What size hole does the W4 Rubber Cavity Fixer need?

The W4 Rubber Cavity Fixer needs an 8mm hole. Each pack takes 2 rubber fixings, each with an M4 x 12mm brass nut and an M4 x 25mm screw. Tightening the screw expands the rubber insert, which grips sturdy or hollow panels like metal sheet, plywood, plasterboard, glass and plastic.

2 FAQs on the W4 Rubber Cavity Fixer

I have a 1997 Sterling Eccles Jade and the rubber fixings that the rear light securing screws fit into are perished. Any Idea where I can get the rubber fixing lugs from?
We have had success in using rubber cavity fixings, our ref. 105446. The rubber cavity fixing must be secured in the body by putting a washer underneath the screw head and then screwing in to expand the rubber. Once secure the screw is removed and then used to fix the light.
Rear light cluster. i removed mine to replace a bulb and the screws go into a black rubber grommet. do you stock these. there appears to be no nut vulcanised into the grommet.
We have had some success with the rubber cavity fixing, our ref 105446. The rubber has to be fixed prior to fitting the light and you will need a suitable 'repair washer' to do this.

5 star review(5/5)
I hunted high and low for these as my front light needed replaced on the caravan and the rubber gromit was perished-they seem to fit all bored holes for whatever purpose on the caravan - they worked a treat although i had to slightly enlarge the holes on the light itself
