Product Description

The Brunner Pillar Fold-Away 8 L Bin is a manually opening waste container designed for caravans, motorhomes, boats and compact living spaces where every centimetre counts. Weighing just 620g, this lightweight bin features a practical 8-litre capacity (measuring 25.5 x 18.5 x 29 cm when open) and collapses flat to 25.5 x 9.5 x 29 cm when you're done with it. Built from durable polypropylene (PP) and TPR thermoplastic materials, it's tough enough to handle daily use whilst remaining easy to wipe clean.

Collapsible bins help you make the most of your storage space compared to traditional rigid waste containers, freeing up valuable cupboard space in caravans, motorhomes and boats. The Brunner Pillar folds from 29 cm high to just 9.5 cm flat, weighs only 620 g, and offers flexible mounting options (free-standing or wall/door-mounted) whilst maintaining an 8-litre capacity for everyday rubbish disposal.

The lid opens manually to keep odours contained and stops waste spilling out when you're on the move. You're not limited to one position either - hang it on cupboard doors, mount it to walls, or simply use it as a free-standing bin wherever it's needed. The smooth thermoplastic surface resists staining and wipes down quickly after spills.

This bin suits anyone managing tight storage in touring caravans, campervans, narrowboats or small flats where traditional bins take up too much room. The combination of PP body and flexible TPR band means it folds repeatedly without cracking, and the neutral design fits most interiors beautifully.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much space does the Brunner Pillar Fold-Away Bin save when collapsed?

The Brunner Pillar reduces its height from 29 cm when open to just 9.5 cm when folded flat, making it easy to store efficiently. The footprint remains 25.5 cm wide, making it simple to slide into narrow cupboards, under seating, or behind caravan doors when travelling. This collapsible design means you can make the most of your precious storage space between trips.

Can the Brunner Pillar Bin be mounted on caravan cupboard doors?

Yes, the Brunner Pillar Fold-Away Bin is designed for wall or door mounting as well as free-standing use. You can hook it over cupboard doors in the kitchen area, attach it to interior walls using suitable fixings, or leave it standing on the floor. The lightweight 620 g construction and flexible TPR band allow secure mounting without adding stress to caravan doors or lightweight motorhome cabinetry.

Is 8 litres enough capacity for a caravan or motorhome waste bin?

An 8-litre bin suits most couples or small families touring in caravans and motorhomes for weekend trips or short breaks. It holds typical food packaging, paper waste, and general rubbish generated during a few days of camping. For longer stays or larger groups, emptying it more frequently keeps things tidy, and the collapsible design means you can store multiple bins when space allows or use it alongside other waste management solutions on site.

What materials are used in the Brunner Pillar Bin and how durable are they?

The Brunner Pillar is constructed from polypropylene (PP) for the main body and thermoplastic rubber (TPR) for the flexible band. PP is a tough, chemical-resistant plastic used widely in outdoor and marine applications because it withstands repeated use brilliantly. The TPR band allows the bin to fold and unfold hundreds of times whilst maintaining its shape. Both materials are hygienic, resist staining, and clean easily with standard household or caravan cleaning products.

Does the manual-opening lid keep smells contained in the bin?

The manual-opening lid on the Brunner Pillar helps contain odours better than open-top bins by keeping waste covered between uses. For optimal results, empty the bin regularly, use compostable liners, and dispose of particularly smelly items in external bins when possible. The lid also stops rubbish falling out when driving on bumpy roads, keeping your caravan tidy during travel.

Great Item

by Wes U Bin (20 Jun 2021)

Easy to fit, well made. Double sided pads are good but could be better. Best to use the screws provided if the panel you are fixing it to is thick enough. Looks good and is excellent quality plastic.
Would definitely recommend.

Excellent quality product and quick service.

Compact

by Judy Clarke (18 Aug 2020)

Pleased with how the narrow the depth is so it does not interfere with getting through the door of our motor home which does not fully open. Did not find the sticky pads provided, that good on the door which is of a rough texture. Speedy delivery
