Replacement Camper Van Window Strip

Bought to replace the old brittle Herzim strip fitted to the aluminium windows in my 25yr old Auto Sleeper van. This 12mm strip slides into the channel on the external side of the aluminium window surround and covers screw fixings. Being new and pliable it fits in fairly easily, though is fiddly around the corners. Old strip had hardened and falling out, this new strip, now fitted, appears to be firmly in place.

Thought it would be difficult to replace the perished original Herzim strip on our 90's Fleurette pop-top caravan. Leisureshopdirect, however, offered a wide range of choice and the Herzim cream 110 strip fitted perfectly. HAPPY! Thank you. Hopefully, that's it for another 25 years!

This 12mm strip is identical profile to the one I replaced, but is softer to feel and easier to fit properly. No need for hot water bucket and s it just pops in nicely.

Had to wait a week for delivery but the company let me know that there would be a delay. The product is maleable when warm and fairly easy to insert and looks great. I'll now need to order some more to brighten up the rest of my caravan.

Awning Rail Finishing Strip

The awning rail finishing strip on my '96 coachman 460/4 SE had shrunk and hardened in the sun and looked quite shabby so I decided to replace all of the strips on the van and what a difference this has made to the van's appearance!
This new Herzim strip is really easy to install as it is very easy to work with.
I found the best method of installing was laying the bottom edge in first then carefully feeding in the top edge using a thin flat-bladed screwdriver then finally running my thumb along the center of the strip to ensure both edges have completely bedded in. Whatever tool you decide to use, place your tool on the very top edge to feed in - if you do this any marks made by the tool wont then be visible. I was careful and took my time which resulted in leaving no visible marks on the strip.
This is a brilliant product and very reasonably priced and would have no issues in recommending this.

The cover strip on my old compass calypso was looking quite sad and tatty. Replaced over a few days in warm weather. Found the best way was to pull out the old piece measure against it and add about a foot on longer pieces. Clean the channel out with a brush. Start In the centre on long bits and don't try to pull it round you will only stretch it and come winter time it will have shrunk and you will have gaps. I tried using a blunt flat bladed screwdriver to ease it in but found the best way was using half of a wooden clothes peg. It doesn't mark the plastic. Work about 6 inches in at a time then you won't stretch it. Going around curves is no problem. The more I did the easier it got. 10 minutes to do a complete door frame. Very pleased with results.

Excellent item,a little time consuming to fit,cannot give an opinion as to above or below average as have no experience of other types.
I found that using a good quality plastic ruler,and using the end of the rule,it was possible to feed the strip into the awning rail,inches at a time,the second rail took 30 mins to fit,half the time of the first

Existing trim had become tired and brittle over it's 10 years life. This trim was a little stretchy so I secured it at both ends to prevent it shrinking back but it looks good and was worth fitting.
