The Milenco Grand aero extra wide offers all the benefits of the Aero 4 Mirror, plus the maximum view possible, combined with very high stability. With the Grand Aero 3 Mirror it enables you to see the top and bottom of your caravan so you can avoid hazards, such as low trees branches, sign posts sticking out etc. As you would expect from Milenco, this is a very high quality product, manufactured with the best materials available.

This is the convex version in a twinpack which comes with a good quality storage bag.

For over 20 years Milenco towing mirrors have led the market, out performing all others in comparative product tests. The first Milenco Aero towing mirror was totally new for 2007. Every year since the mirror has been updated and improved to keep this product at the head of the market. This is the best-selling towing mirror in the world. It has been designed to offer superior vision and a vibration free view far past your caravan. It also complies with the very latest International regulations, and far exceeds all legal requirements in every EU member state. This mirror also complies with the very latest pedestrian safety laws and is engineered to minimise injury in the event of an accident.

This is a very high quality product and is manufactured with the highest quality materials available. The mirror screws are high-grade stainless steel and turn in brass inserts that will never corrode. The mirror glass is chrome safety glass, which will offer extremely long life and will not discolour after a few years.

The unique and new clamping system (patented plus international patents pending) now on the Grand Aero 4 Mirror is further improved to have much greater grip and improved fitment. The clamps will now fit on vehicles with compound tapered flanges on the vehicle mirror housing, such as on 2016 Land Rovers and Jaguar's. These new clamps offer an outstanding and versatile system, which is engineered to fit all current (post 1995 - 2017) cars, 4x4's and vans. This system has easy to use thumb wheels on tilting axis, which enable the clamps to 'shape' to the contours of the vehicles mirror, allowing totally versatile fitting. Another innovation of this design is the upgraded gripper system, so you do not lose the grip pads. This design also does away with unreliable straps that transfer vibration.

Registered Design
The Grand Aero 3 Mirror head design (Registered Design) utilises airflow around your car to stabilise and balance the mirror head at speed. This mirror has been extensively tested at speeds up to 220kph (137mph), to ensure that you get the best vision possible. This design also offers superior performance in high winds and the effect of passing large commercial vehicles has been minimised.

The Law concerning Towing Mirrors
If you want to avoid prosecution from the police, please read the following few paragraphs which explain the circumstances when towing mirrors are a legal requirement. Despite what the law clearly states, there does appear to be confusion amongst caravanner's about what the law actually states, or if a law exists at all!

If your caravan is wider than your car, it is a legal requirement that you fit additional e-marked mirrors on both sides. In Europe and Australia, you must be able to see 4 metres out from either side of the caravan or trailer 20 metres behind the driver. In America you must be able to see 2.4 metres out from either side of the caravan or trailer, 10.7 metres behind the driver. Effectively both standards specifying the field of view are very similar and just describe it in different ways. What is common to the standard is it specifies a field view from a straight line parallel behind the caravan, or in other words you must be able to see down the side of the caravan. The simplest way to ensure you are legal is to ensure your Mirrors are wider than the caravan, so if you look from behind the caravan ensure you can see both mirrors sticking out.

Like the slogan says "If you can't see my mirrors, I can't see you" (and you are breaking the law).

If your car is fitted with door mirrors approved to UN46.2,46.3, or 46.4 (ADR14.2) was a new car after 26th January 2007, your towing mirrors may project up to 25 cm beyond the widest point of the caravan. For older cars, your mirrors may project up to 20cm.

If you are caught towing blind or with inproper towing mirrors you can be:

- Prosecuted by the police
- Given 3 points on your licence
- Fined up to £1,000

On tow vehicles confirming to directive 2003/97EC or sold after January 2007, the towing mirrors may project 25cms further than the widest part of the caravan. On tow vehicles pre dating this directive, the mirrors may project 20cm further than the widest part of the caravan.

Since 12th of December 2007 it is a legal requirement that you have type approved (e-marked) mirrors on both sides of the tow vehicle.

The use of towing mirrors in some European countries is mandatory and if stopped, drivers can face on-the-spot fines for towing without the use of a towing mirror.

I have a BMW X3/X5 2018-Present, which mirrors should I use?
The BMW X3/X5 mirrors are particularly difficult mirrors to fit to. They are also extremely fragile. Do not overtighten the clamps. We understand BMW are aware of the issue.<br /><br />The best solution is to purchase either Aero Platinum 6606 or Grand Aero Platinum 6613. The unique clamp design is totally universal, and will provide the strongest grip and steadiest view of any towing mirror on the market for many years to come.<br /><br />Alternatively, if you already have Aero 3 or 4 mirrors, you can marginally improve the grip by purchasing F Pads 4664. If you have Aero 1 or 2 mirrors, you will need to replace your clamps with new Aero clamps 4589, or upgrade to the Platinum range.
Will the Aero 3 Mirrors fit my Vehicle

Should I have Flat or Standard Mirror’s?
Worldwide Milenco sell more Standard than flat Mirrors.<br /><br />In the UK there is an historical preference for buying Flat Mirrors as against Standard. We believe this date’s back to the time when other manufacturers standard mirror’s gave a severely distorted the view, making distance judgement difficult.<br /><br />Milenco Standard mirror’s have typically the same radius as 95% of car door mirror’s, they will give you the same field of view as you are used to.<br /><br />Flat Mirror’s will give a smaller field of view, than your car mirrors.<br /><br />Whichever Milenco Mirror you choose you will be getting the best quality and the best field of view possible, but if you ask us our opinion which is better, we would say Standard.<br /><br />Milenco mirrors have won every test of Mirrors globally since the mid 90’s, every Milenco mirror that has won these tests, has been Standard.

Discovery Mk 3 towing an 8’ wide caravan.
Excelllent fit. Secure. A previous standard width Grand Aero pair of mirrors have lasted 12 years of heavy use without problem. I attach retaining cords loosely in case one did fall off - better for it to thump your door than be dangerous road debris - but never had a problem before.

Didn't like the fact there wasn't any straps. Shouldn't have worried because they are rock steady and give superb rear vision. Not cheap but you could spend a fortune trying all the others before the "Milenco".

Learning From Our Mistakes....

A week before we were due to go away, my husband asked me to look for a set of replacement towing mirrors as his last cheap set he'd had for decades had just broken. I did the usual research online and decided upon these. Once he recovered after I told him the price (silly man thought I would buy cheap.. after 30 years of marriage you'd have thought he would've learned :)) Anyway I was given the OK to buy and did not regret our decision. First journey out and less than 5 minutes in I heard the comment 'should have got these years ago' and have heard this several times since too. They feel well made, very stable and fit our (nearly classic) 1999 Landrover Discovery mirrors well. Far easier to put on and take off than the old mirrors which had 2 straps that wrapped over the back of the mirror. The brackets/clips on the old pair were clumsy so would not allow door mirror to be adjusted electrically, we don't have this issue now. They give far a better and far safer viewing area of the road, the traffic, our Bailey Barcelona twin axle caravan and the blind spot we had with the old towing mirrors on the n/s has now gone.
Learning from our mistakes: If there's one piece of advice I could give it would be this... over the years we have had many caravans and cars but always towed with the same mirrors and what we've learnt from this experience is to invest in a good pair.. not all towing mirrors do the same job, yes our old cheap pair did the job but these are safer and have so many more advantages.

As a new person to caravanning having these mirrors give peace of mind when driving. They fitted to the wing mirrors of my Land Rover Discovery 4 very easily and there is no vibration when driving with on. They provide a wide angle of rear vision and are easy to remove and store in the well-constructed case that is provided with them
